Welcome to the Official Civitai Beginners Guide to Stable Diffusion and AI Art!
In this video we will walk through all of the most important file and asset types you will need to download and install to generate AI images with Stable Diffusion locally. We will go over what the files are for, what they do, and how to install them into your directories.
In the process, you will also be learning how to utilize the Civitai website to get whatever assets you need.

Shouldn't there be a video how to install controlnet first? So the Controlnet folder will be created? Cause there is no controlnet folder if you haven't installed the extension.

i got stuck here too. i have been able to install it via the extension installer. the controlnet extension is inside the extension forlder in the stable diffusion webui but its not showing up in the web ui, no matter how many times i refresh. I guess there wont be any pinned installation comment.

It's hard to overemphasize how important this stuff is. It's boring and annoying but your drive will absolutely be swamped with superfluous/redundant files if you don't plan it well. Especially when you're dropping enormous safetensors in the wrong folders, then losing them, then getting annoyed and duplicating them into any folder you think might get them working, etc. And when you need only three or four files from a git folder, but you have no idea which ones or where to put them, so of course you get them all and put them everywhere. I'm rewinding a bit myself after an insane few months of brute-forcing it. Everything works great, but I know my workflows are super inefficient. There are surprisingly few appropriately detailed walkthroughs around. If a tutorial doesn't tell you exactly what a file does and exactly where it goes and why, it's not very helpful if it doesn't work on the first go. Pay attention guys. Thanks for this series. It's hitting all the spots that I really didn't understand at all when I started.

what about ControlNet extension in the description of ControlNet 1.1 Models? Do I need to download it?

no control net folder in web ui should create one or there is another way to it

I'm a tad confused. So, you only need to put the files in the Auto1111 folder if you intend to only use Auto1111. I can guess, if you have no intention of using Auto1111, you only need to put the files in the other EasyDiffusion folder. Or do you need to put 2 sets of the files in Auto1111 and the Easy Diffusion models folder. (Edit) Managed to sort it out, thanks for taking the time to record the videos and go into detail on how to get everything setup, it is appreciated.

@@civitai Yes, that was where the confusion was on my part, I assumed Auto1111 was part of Easy Diffusion which got me thinking on why would I need to have 2 copies of the models to run Easy Diffusion, so thanks for clearing that up. I have been on the Civitai using the models on the website and was always confused as to why would I want to download the models when everything is already on the website to use, now everything makes sense. So again, thank you for compiling the videos and the work involved to do the tutorials. It is appreciated 👍

there isnt a controlnet file on my stable diffusion even when i followed along, do I need to make one or something.

Sorry about that - you need to install the ControlNet extension first. Please refer to how to do that in Video 4 :)

Even thougt I folloved these tutorials strickly, some of the folder have been placed differently, and I have no controlnet-folder at all. 😭

Hey! Sorry about that, check out video 4. You have to install the ControlNet extension and then the folder will appear :)

Okay so basically u put the same download, into ur easy diffusion folder and then once in ur auto1111 folder. Rinse and repeat

Hey! Sorry about that, you have to install the ControlNet extension first via the Extension tab. This is outlined in video #4. Check there and then the folder will be created :)
