I wish they would do a version in the Elementum II size with thumbstuds. They could do away with the flipper for all I care.

I went for the larger button-lock. They've fixed some of the issues with the coated blackout hardware from that knife needing extra break in time because of the black coating. It was also drop shut out of the box, but felt the action felt almost fuzzy until the haze wore off of the plunger. You can actually see that they've either buffed or left the black coating off of the engagement surfaces on this version. Should be more crisp. Might also need the pivot tightened slightly to make up for the different tolerances.

Once the button lock breaks in it works very well, ive had mine for about 13 days now and its very easy for the blade to fall and close smoothly as well as flipping open. Just give it a little bit of break in time 👌

How is the detent keeping it closed? I’m always paranoid it could open in the pocket.

@@kpfagerbergwith tip up carry, the seam of your pants will hold the blade closed. So long as it's in your right pocket of course.

Just need to adjust the pivot screw! I've found two of my Civivis had the steel type on the flipper real small including the Elementum fixed blade which the flipper is even active. My Elementum 2 was perfect out of the box. From playing with it I had to tighten the pivot screw a couple times, but mine just falls and bounces. It's a really nice knife for a "budget" knife. I always considered 10-20 dollar gun show knife, Tac Force, M Tech knives and the like. Those have always been really good to me too.

It looks like it’s only the g10 that is thicker not scale to scale. I wonder if that’s only to countersink the button a little? I’d rather a shorter button or even a little protrusion than a thicker handle. Mines in the mail as I type this

Yeah, why can't they just make every single knife. Have reversible bocket clips? Sucks being a lefty sometimes

I have a CIVIVI Conspirator Button Lock Knife and I can push the hardest I want and it still falls no problem not sure if that helps but might be something dumb and fixable…?? 🤷🏼‍♂️

I am somewhat of a knife collector, enthusiast, connoisseur, or whatever u want to call it. And have been recently looking for a new one. I have been looking at this knife, the crkt ignitor T with the button on the thumb stud too open it or the flipper but not the serrated one, or the civivi qubit, or the civivi praxis mini. And i dont have mich of a preference in how thick or wide the knife is long is its not something crazy amd the design is comfortable. I like a thick blade for some knives for working amd prying but if the ateel is good it doesnt have to be. But this next knife wont be a prying knife so it doesn't have to be a thick blade long as the steel is good. And as far as the button look goes how u are talking about it. I kinda dont mind one u have to push in all the way to close. That way in case u ever slightly touch it when using it for any reason if its a alight touch u dont hve to worry about it closing on your finger. As long as the open and close action is still fast and smooth when its actually time to open and close amd long as the button is t crazy hard to push all the way down. Which that seemed to be fast amd smooth. I also like a heavy knife. Or heavy in relation to the size is what i mean. For a premium feel.

Excellent video!! I'm waiting for my E2 to arrive and I was very curious about how it would compare to the Pyrite. BTW, the action feels different between the all-metal and the G10 versions of the Pyrite, the all-metal has a better free swing without having to consciously push the button all way in. Cheers!!

I actually have the all metal Pyrite but didn't' unbox it yet. I've been really liking the G10 Pyrite. Soon i'll unbox the steel one.

YO MAN!! Do me a huuuge favor…watch just a few minutes of the video I just posted when you are free…I’m extremely curious if ALL these knives have the same little “rough cut section” (watch and you’ll find out) near the divot in the blade. Thanks man!

I’ve really liked mine so far. The action is great. The weight on the flip feels right. For the price I’m happy.

I have never heard of this company so my question is how durable are these knives? I have been carrying the same Kershaw Emerson CQC for 10 years. I have never happened it and it is still razor sharp. I have used it quite heavily as well cutting sandbags, opening ammo cans, carving. I like the athscetic of these Civivi knives but idk if it is worth it. I also question the button lock because you could accidentally activate it and cause the blade to unlock while in use.

Been wondering because I haven’t seen anyone do it yet. Can you open this by holding the button and swinging the knife?

It looks like the liners and blade are the same thickness just the scales seem thicker. You could probably modify a pair of Elementum scales to work. That’s probably how they made the button disappear was having thicker scales. Personally I’d rather have a thinner knife with a button that pokes out a little. Also, a disadvantage to the minimal about of button lock exposed it’s harder to depress properly to not get into a bind for the blade to drop like in the video.

How is the pivot holding up? Mine gets quite loose if open/shut more than 10 times and needs constant re-rightening

same thing with mine, just use a small amount of blue or purple loctite. Let dry for 24 hours.

That's a really interesting comparison in the thickness between the elementum 2 and the pyrite. I kept hearing how the new elementum is so thick to make space for the button lock but just look at the pyrite....

elementum's way too thick. I'll buy it if they revise it in a year or 2. Needs to be as thin as an axis lock type

Hi, thank you for this review! With that many Elementums could you please explain why the scales don't match the liners? It seems like when you grab the handle the liners push your palm in two thin lines. How does it feel? Does it have any benefits?

You should review the elementum with only the button lock, it's a great knife and doesn't have the problems of their other button lock models
