I received this knife several days ago and thought "what a neat little knife". However, I really wasn't grabbing it to carry. One small upgrade changed the Odium into one of my absolute favorite knives I own. That was simply removing the pocket clip. Now it's in my pocket all the time, even if I'm carry a larger knife with a clip. I love this thing.

Great review! I've had my Odium for a few weeks now and I love it. It's quickly become my EDC 5th pocket/fidget flipper knife. The fit and finish are amazing for the budget price point. Definitely a must buy!

Yup I live in one of those areas with laws for blades over 3” blade.... it sucks cause there are tunes of knives I love that are just over 3”. Great video and cool knife!

What I find crazy is I love big heavy knives but here lately I’ve been on a small knife kick. I absolutely love this knife!! I have big hands and this knife fits perfect! Utilizing the finger choil of course. I carry this knife with my malice of course. This knife is the bee’s knee’s, the cats meow, the.... yea you get it!

Really like mine. May be my new most common 5th pocket knife. I have the blue scale and satin blade, but seeing your black on black, Odium, wow. Really like the looks of it.

I think the word you're looking for is 'radiused' for how the edges of the scales are rounded over, producing what is called a fillet (many interchangeable terms here). Chamfers can vary in angle, but the cut area is linear in cross section profile (beveled), rather than curved. :)

I am thrilled about everything with this knife - except the pocket clip. Usually I remove the pocket clip from all my folders as one of the first things, as I always do deep pocket carry, and the clip grabs hold of other stuff in the pocket. Lately I have let the clip stay on, and especially with smaller knifes as, in some cases they become part of ergonomics of the handle. For the Odium I felt just the opposite; it truly hampers the ergonomics - so it had to go, instantly making the knife a perfect fit, even in my large hands. That left me with another, insignificant but still annoying, problem: the one screw needed to be replaced after removing the clip, protrude into the center of the blade well the frame/body. I don't think it makes contact with the blade when closed. It just doesn't look good. I live in Denmark where the maximum blade length of a folding knife, you can legally carry in public places, is 70 mm (at least the restriction on one-handed opening and locking in open position have been dropped - but still it is a pain to find a good EDC knife since most companies now adhere to the 3 inch standard) so this is a dream come true - and you don't even need an import permit to have one sent to you from abroad :D

I've been bit. I purchased about 25 knives in the last month and have been so impressed with Civivi and the Cuibourtia wood is driving me crazy (good). I agree, Civivi appears to be a very good value. Looks like I'm picking up the Odium based on your review. Thanks, I think! ;-)

I replaced the pocket clip with the optional clip sold by Civivi to make it a "Total Package"...its definitely a keeper now. Get one!

Late to the party, mine is on the way! Watching this review gives me hope, I have the kizer lieb which I love, however I wish it had a finger choil. I personally think this size knife is a more "utility " knife in my opinion. A knife this size needs to be choked up on.

I prefer fixed blades. The only reason that I even carry a folder is as a fidget toy. The Odium is perfect for this. It, and the hawkbill MKM Isonzo both.

Just received an Odium. The action is dreadful. Even with the pivot screw loose, it will not flip open. Even with more oil, it will not flip open. And it takes vigorous action to shake it closed. I have 8 or 9 Civivis, and the last couple have been inferior.

@@johnj.baranski6553 nope, and I don't think I would have to. There is dozens of brands out there making knives in the 50-100 dollar range with much better steels (Kizer comes to mind). Or just forget D2 and use 14c28n in the same category with better properties. Or go for VG10, N690Co stv. same price, even better steel. With D2, there is for example the Honey Badger knives - quality on par, price at least 30% less. Civivi is good, but by far not the bargain everyone makes them out to be.
