@@vucachondear sir, I just bought me a vision fg and you can’t even reverse flick it it’s to hard , you can thumb flick it but that’s all I’m new to knives been into it for about 2 months and was thinking about trying to take it apart after I watch your video . Can you give me some advice ?
@vucachon2 ай бұрын
Maybe take it apart or return/exchange it for a new one? For sure, take it apart and put it back together. That may help

@@vucachon if the detent is to hard is there a way to loosen it and I only see 2 screws in the vision if I loose the one screw up by the top of the knife will that loosen the detent ?

@@christurnerct49 you could loosen the pivot screw to see if it lets off some

I simply screwed the clip from the Böker Magnum blue Jay onto the Civivi Vision fg. Visually, in terms of feel and in everyday life, it fits perfectly. 😅🤷♂️👍

Like it a lot but I wish the thumb studs weren’t so rounded. And they have to be removed with pliers just to see what size replacements would fit.

Question uncle Vu. Could I use the stopper pin in the back to place a small ring to, then, tie a landyard to the ring?
@vucachon10 ай бұрын
I don't think there is enough clearance. You need enough room for the Super Lock pullback and disengage. I took a quick look and pulled the Super Lock to see how much clearance you need to disengage... you have about 1 mm or less of space after disengaging. So maybe a thin string? Lol

I’ve been heavily into knives for like 6 years and for some reason I cannot get the pivot of this knife to sit flush. Any time I try to tighten the pivot down it becomes free spinning and it’s causing a lot of blade play in the knife
@MikeyTrailz6 ай бұрын
There is a little section on the pivot with the "C" on it that interlocks with the scale. It looks like a little triangle. That has to be fully engaged in the slot on the scale to keep it from spinning before you tighten it up.

Hey Vu! Howdoya do?! Thanks for filming this video! Was exactly what I was searching a while for! I don’t have one of those yet and I think most people were complaining about the placement of the clip. So my bright genius idea would be to get some sort of material, like a flat sheet or piece, maybe some kind of carbon fiber, micarta, wood, or even titanium, etc. Then redo the scales using that material, maybe making it the exact same or different from the original scales. I would probably leave the three larger holes out, or I guess the better way of saying that is that I wouldn’t put the three larger holes in.. but I’d probably leave the holes near the front where you can see the lockup. Maybe make a more interesting window shape to show off the lockup. But the most important part of redoing the scales is moving the clip placement. I’d like to get a titanium clip if I don’t use the original clip and then I would move the clip down into more of the center of the scale. Plus I’d be able to get rid of those ugly spots(especially on the show side) where the clip is able to be countersunk into the scales on either side, so the clip isn’t screwed on top of the scales. I imagine I’ll have to figure out how to add new threads to the steel liner so that the clip, in it’s newer position, has something to thread/screw into. It looks like that size clip’s point of contact would be right in between the last two holes. I wouldn’t have to worry about it falling into a hole and being weird to carry or remove from the pocket. But if I went hole-less then that wouldn’t really matter. I have a few other mods I would want to take care of if I’m going through doing all that. One would definitely be trying to grind off the “C” logo on the pivot, maybe add a little design or just a clean, circular sanded or hand rubbed finish to it, just to clean it up a little instead of the branding. Also I’d probably change up or add some more gimping to the super lock depending on if I feel like it needs it or not. Maybe even have the steel liners cerakoted to add a splash of color or just leave them all blacked out. I dunno.. but I feel like it might be a good, fairly cheap and easy project to undertake. I haven’t done anything like this before but I think I’d like to give it a go just for the fun of it. I spend a bit of time in my head daydreaming about switching X blade with Y handle or changing things about certain knives’ blades, etc. One of these days I’d like to give it a go. I’d love to see some of these ideas of mine come to fruition possibly someday. Whadya think? Seeing that you’ve already taken it all apart and everything, is there anything that I’m overlooking that wouldn’t allow me to move the clip into a better position? Or anything else that I haven’t thought through well enough yet? Thanks Vu! I ❤ U
