@Jesse Rodriguez there are 5 hitscanners in Doom: Zombieman, Shotgunner, Chaingunner, Spiderdemon and Arch Vile In Blood there are 4: Cultist, Fanatic, Beauty and Tchenorbog
@Jesse Rodriguez Thing is in Blood the combo of high numbers of hitscanners, fast fire rates and above decent accuracy makes them a bigger problem here than in regular Doom, except maybe Plutonia and its sequels where it's chaingunners and shotgunners galore

"kill five of x enemies on hard difficulty" or "preform 100 jumps on any difficulty" for example, or harder variants of normal achievements if you really must have all of the base ones be achievable by players of all skill sets.

That little closet room @6:02 in the upper library has an infinite rat generator (every 2 seconds) behind the grating to discourage camping on higher skills. It's either run out into the hitscan crossfire or hide in that one "safe" room and get your health whittled down bit by bit. Dick moves aside, Cryptic Passage has some excellent mapping; not just in a standard technical sense but absolutely nailing that particularly unique eerie atmosphere. I sometimes wish we could've had a slower, more survival-horror game sometimes (like Condemned or Undying) than the pure fast-paced chaos and carnage. Not that I don't love Blood's gameplay! It's top-tier classic fps, but that also makes it very easy to miss the incredible aesthetics, texturing, environmental sound, overall art direction etc. I'm actually kind of surprised nobody ever made a straight-up horror mod for Blood. I mean maybe I'm nuts but I'd love to see something with strong story, slower pacing and some adventure/rpg elements that's atmosphere and horror focused set in Blood's macabre pseudo-1920s world, as opposed to pure fast-paced fps action that just happens to have a horror theme, if that makes sense.

@@wingedfish1175 Eh, these days it's pretty much common knowledge that a lot of people actually liked TLJ, which should've been obvious considering you can't have a controversy without, you know, people not agreeing on something. It'll stand the test of time, at least like the Prequels did, somehow. Sometimes all you need is the one thing to keep the rest going. Helps that people respond positively to the tv shows.
@knightmare37062 жыл бұрын
@@wolfgod6443 it won't stand the test of time. Trust me. It's lazy, weird, breaks lore and just throws character development, good fights, memorable characters and everything else star wars is known for out of the window to "subvert expectations". It's THE worst SW movie after rise of Skywalker. The only complaint about the prequels is the weird dialogue and Jar Jar. They have the best fights of the franchise, the most memorable characters and places, good character development and most important of all there is no Mary Sue in sight even though Anakin being the chosen one could've made him a Mary Sue but it didn't.
@wolfgod64432 жыл бұрын
@@knightmare3706 It's funny because the Prequels fights have as many holes in their choreography as anything in the sequels. Nobody cared until people wanted to complain. I argue that people wanted to cling to something to like about the Prequels, and they remembered "well the music and fights looked cool" and left it at that. Feel free to challenge that, feel free to study Prequel fights and realize Qui-Gon could've killed Maul about a dozen times over before he died, except you never cared and are just complaining. I say this as a fan of Prequel fights, because their choreography is not all they are and they look cool even if you tear them to shreds. There is a story behind these duels and it's why one of my favorite duels in the series is actually Luke vs. Kylo Ren. "Lazy" and "weird" are nothing statements. Legends broke lore long ago and the Sequels are incredibly tame versions of Legends content that fits more in line with the scale of the films which came before it. Saying the sequels has a mary sue is exactly why TROS did everything in its power to make its new heroes vulnerable and require the old heroes to bail them out of all their problems. TROS literally damaged its own plot so you didn't have the right to say that and you say it anyways. I'd have rather you simply said TROS downgrades the Sequels as a whole than have you spit random internet garbage you took from someone else's mouth. If you think the Sequels broke lore then you never saw Palpatine destroy a planet with force lightning in Legends. I would say we were owed an impressive showing from Palpatine and Luke anyways, using greater force powers that ever seen before, from the greatest force wielders. Now was the time to do it. I feel bad for Han, but Leia had a successful life and Luke might be the best character arc in the franchise. Easily capturing what puts himself at odds with the ways of the Jedi, the same Jedi who lost their way in the prequels, because someone put more thought into Luke than just making him look cool for a neckbeard to gush about (if you just want cool Luke go watch the tv shows). There's a massive list on the Prequels about everything done poorly built over decades by dedicated fans and no amount of ignorance like saying "it was only Jar Jar" is going to make that list go away. I am not saying people are right in their complaints on the prequels. I am saying that dedication to hating the Prequels didn't kill the Prequels and you are proving it, so why would you think your list of complaints against the Sequels will be superior? Hell you didn't even name Force Awakens when talking about what you hate, the one that is literally fan service, the movie (in a time when people needed that, but this isn't helping your case at all). Edit: I apologize as you caught me at a bad time unrelated to this, so I am being more blunt about my thoughts and harsher with my words, but I can only wonder how the Sequels hurt you to carry this much baggage yourself. I even stopped this comment early tbh. One bit of confusion is the amount of vitriol you have for the Sequels if it's the prequels, which have little to do with the Sequels, are where the "most memorable characters and places" are.
@knightmare37062 жыл бұрын
@@wolfgod6443 you done spitting bullshit? Cause as I said, the sequels are all awful. Even TFA which is the best of the three. TFA is just copy pasting ANH with different characters and just going "bigger is better", TLJ completely disregards the lore cause Rian Johnson doesn't care about lore and doesn't care that Star wars is a series of movies and not a single movie. No amount of bullshitting will save the sequels. Again the prequels had great fights, great atmosphere, memorable characters and iconic planets. The prequels' only problem were weird dialogue and Jar Jar binks. The other bullshits you're spitting are as I mentioned, bullshit. And also the prequels had the positive that George Lucas himself was the one who created them. The literal lore master and not some hack who doesn't care about the franchise at all. And about legends breaking lore, yeah the lore breaking ones aren't as loved as the ones which don't and those were published under George Lucas's watch. So again, stop bullshitting and trying to say the sequels will be loved the same way the prequels were cause that's impossible with all the bullshit they have going on in those bullshit movies that are just one big fucking fetch quest with an ending that wasn't even earned.

A surprisingly easier expansion?! Un-frickin-believble! And you teased Death Wish first in the Post Mortem vid ending... really, man, this is humorous. Edit: Fine, I'll try to watch The Exorcist III this coming Halloween. Hope you're not wrong... I still have unpleasant memories of watching the sequels to The Omen. 2nd edit because of 9:30: Actually, riverboats were a main element in the final chapters of the Dracula novel.

There is a funny bug in Mountain Pass (at least it's there in the DOS version). When you hunt for the Moon Key and press the coloumns which spawn Zombies, a Mother Spider, and Hell Hounds respectively, during the time the coloumns are lowering, the game repeatedly spawns the enemies whenever you press the use key again. So if you find the seven Hell Hounds too easy, you can press the use key three times to get twenty-one instead, and so on. When I played that map (I play it often because I really like its gaping chasms, and it's easy to pitchfork-start even on Extra crispy), I often tried to make as many enemies as possible. Also, I usually don't kill the Phantasms behind the Skull Key door, just pass (crawl) through them, and let them drift above the pits and just circle there, screaming endlessly, making the mountain range truly "haunted". Sometimes you can see their shadows circling in the Hell Hound pit, but they're too high so they don't descent to attack you.
