The old timers dont last forever. Thats a hard pill. I grew up with hounds from 14 onward. The old timers took me under their wing. Farmers were the hunters and I took for granted the 4000 or so acres of hunting ground. Im 52 now and they are all gone and with that I lost all the ground and my last hound died of old age with nowhere left to hunt. Memorys and photos - all I got now.

Do you think it’s ever to old to get into running dogs? What’s the latest you’ve seen someone get into it?

My father has so many stories of Mr. Prock. My dad hunted with him when he had 65 dogs in his backyard and a cowboy who literally rode a horse all the way from Texas to Arizona to take care of them. He was the nicest guy but was unfortunately a crook given the canned hunts he put on.

Yes I have heard about that many times... I have some news paper articles about canned jaguar hunts ..

@@InterviewsStoriesandTales In the early 90s when Mr. Prock could still get around my dad bear hunted with him. Dad has a story from a friend about an old circus bear that Mr. Prock bought to put on a canned hunt. A man they were with who was in on the hunt had a transistor radio he was listening to. Well as that circus bear heard the music it started dancing and Prock said to the shooter “it’s gonna attack us you need to shoot it” and he shot it. Crazy stories.
