the thing most people discredit Purdy for is all of his deep passes/touchdowns being underthrown or overled. first of all, most of these so-called inaccurate balls are throws purely situational. I remember one deep pass to Brandon Aiyuk that looked hella underthrown at first glance. Actually looking at it showed the ball would’ve gotten deflected or picked, or likely had him laid out with not enough time to properly possess the ball. One person in particular, before the year he got drafted, pointed out that he was more accurate then the quarterbacks rumored to go in the first round (Sam Howell, Malik Willis, Matt Coral, Kenny Pickett) and said he had first round potential and would be a steal in anything later than the 5th round (I’m talking about tank sports).

What Purdy has been doing, no other QB that played under Kyle’s system was able to do. It was the running game that got Jimmy to the sb. Purdy’s arm is what got them to the SB. Kyle didnt even trust Jimmy enough to have him throw more than 18 times a game for many games. Purdy comes in and takes the team to the NFCC twice and the SB once. In his 2 years. Mind you, he only played as QB1 for 1 season. He was QB3 on his first season and beat the brakes off the Dolphins as soon as he walked into the game.
