I was made in Wildflecken, born in Bad Brückenbau, raised in Hammelburg, Gefäll/Burkardroth, then moved to Schweinfurt, Würzburg and now I live in Georgia USA lol I came full circle and my german side of the family still lives in those areas. I miss it soooo much !!! It's about time I go back home to visit 👍

Hey do you know Micheala liebsch and Heike liebsch from hammelberg? They would be about 48-50 years old now
@iGoddess4 жыл бұрын
@@lieutenantlawson4295 The name sounds familiar, but I'd have to ask my brother who owns a business in Hammelburg and he's a bit older than me, so he might've went to school with her? Last time I went to school there I was 10 and moved away from Hammelburg, but my brother stayed there and had his circle of friends from school there as well. He finished High School there as well, so I'm sure he knows her or of her. I'll ask for you, if you like?

@@OKChuck NO, never really thought about it at the time, plus I'm sure a lot of that stuff would have came back to bite me in the butt. Between myself, Tapp, Lagmay, Sauer, and Graham, we did a few stupid things. Hope you and your family are doing well and staying healthy.

Still love Hefeweizen today. 4-34 AR Mainz to the Desert then Ft. Polk La. so many good memories except when Staff didn’t put me in for the Arcom with valor for combat operations in Iraq... because I left the damn oil dipstick loose on the M1A1... but hey no hard feelings. 🤣

Great video Chuck! THAT was the most AMAZING time to be in Germany IMHO. The wall came down, the border opened, the Warsaw pact was no longer and Germany reunified. I was station in USAREUR until 1984 and then ETS'd in 1986. Went back as a civialian working for AAFES in 1989 until 1991 it was truly a magical time!

I pulled duty there for 2 weeks in 1969 as an MP. I can only describe it as a hellhole. I served in many Army installations in West Germany. This place was unique. Roving packs of predatory gi's looking for people to rob, assault at night. It was the singularly worst place to pull duty in all of Europe.Thank God I was only there for 2 weeks and not assigned there permanently. A HELLHOLE by any definition.
