@Proxima_Livion8 ай бұрын
@@igorthelight Yes, Stellaris certainly has a lot of awesome mods. Gigastructural engineering and ACOT are my all time favourites. But its hard to take it seriously after a couple of playthroughs, since more mods doesnt make the AI much better and once you've defeated the crisises a few times, they stop being that threatening. But for the newest dlc that came out last week for example I have not read anything about it to make it feel as new as possible and its actually fun. This is coupled with the fact that it is genuinly a good expansion. Another important thing is, that I've learned about the Stellaris graphic processor coupleing issue, where the game is being slowed down by your graphics card for some reason, even though your proccessor is more than capable to go faster. To fix that, you need to play the game in fullscreen settings and disable V-Sync. Dont ask why that is, that issue apparently has been in the code since the beginning and never got noticed or fixed. But playing with the new settings has improved the endgame performance dramatically. If you want to know more about it, there is a reddit post somewhere where everything is explained.

Good video. I'm a CK player who played a little Stellaris when it first came out, got bored, and stopped. I've revisited over the last year and found it has gotten a lot more interesting. You mentioned that you wish CK3 had more things to discover, like Stellaris. I do feel that it's worth pointing out that Stellaris has many more years of events that have been added to the game. Also you are new to Stellaris but have been playing a lot of CK3. Once you've been playing Stellaris a while, having the event where you move the aliens off the gas giant or discover an atomic age civilization come up once again loses some of the same thrill, much like the way you get familiar with events in CK3. Granted, good events should be providing you with interesting choices whether you have seen them before or not. There is also the point that Stellaris is a game about discovery, while CK3 largely isn't. That might change though. Playing landless characters wandering around the map will have a very different dynamic. I would like to see more detailed pop and economy mechanics in CK3. On the one hand, I understand that nobility are not merchants. They let the little people handling all the grubbiness of business and simply skill off the top in the form of taxes, so I understand why it isn't essential. On the other hand, we are on the cusp of having unlanded characters in the game, which should lead to a much wider range of approaches to the game. Assuming the landless mechanics work you, it should really open the door to playing merchant families in a way that CK2 never really achieved. That would give them a good reason to really expand the economic side of the game. Looking the other direction at what I wish Stellaris could take from CK3, I wish Stellaris had actual characters. NPCs in Stellaris are basically just buffs you plug into a slot. Even factions feel largely lifeless. Speaking of factions, it's always annoyed me that factions only emerge over the course of the game. It seems like the empires of the game should be a lot more factionalized before you encounter other species. I find the early game can be pretty slow, especially once you seen most of the anomaly events a few times. Having actual internal politics in the early game would make the early game more interesting, and make empires more interesting overall.

the video is pretty cool :y I also tried out Stellaris some time ago. It's.....different than CK3, but as you said, the discovery part is very thrilling. And the customization is very cool too. I have some optional advice for your potential future videos: When filming the ship battles, you could try to either have slow camera movements and zooms; with cuts in between the shots to redirect the points people look at, rather than jumping around with the camera like you'd do in the standard gameplay. That way it would be a bit more cinematic and easier to watch :3

I am in almost the exact opposite boat - I have been down deep on the Stellaris rabbit hole for years and started firing up CK2 and EU4 after not touching them for years. The exploration and discovery of Stellaris keeps me super engaged, even years later, but the same kind of random turns of drama in the CK games makes it really fun as well. I honestly would love to see a fusion of the two - a space 4X where you play as a single character/dynasty, not just an empire.

Having played enough of this game to know pretty much every event off the top of my head, it's so refreshing and interesting to see it from a new player's perspective. Quick tip about the difficulty: Ensign is the default, where you're just playing the game as normal. I'd recommend that one. If you go below it, you, the player, will get bonuses to almost every part of your empire. At the lowest difficulty, civilian, you get for example double resources and fleet capacity compared to AIs. It is the opposite the higher you go, with the AI getting stupidly high bonuses to their economy and military at the grand admiral difficulty. If you want to try higher difficulties, there's a setting called "Difficulty scaling", which makes it so their buffs aren't applied in full right from the get-go, but is instead slowly increased as the game progresses, to try and match an experienced player's snowballing. It's a good setting, I'd recommend setting it to late game if you wanna try going higher difficulty at some point. Anyway, pretty nice video. The Stellaris expansion ads go so hard in those edits, very cool. :)

"Getting hit with any new Paradox UI is like getting hit by Mike Tyson" - oh, I felt that. I came back to Stellaris recently after a few years and just developing the muscle memory to navigate around was a process. That being said I must admit that I adore the simple, yet effective use of keys - WASD obviously let's you move around, but E allows you to quickly move out to galaxy map, while Q will focus camera on whatever you have selected, wherever in the galaxy it might be. Mastering E and Q really was the key to comfortably zooming around the map.

Originally, when you met a new empire (and there weren't First Contact events either) you knew exactly who they were, how strong they were compared to you, and what their borders were. Having to set up a spy network to gain intel to remove the fog of war was a distinct improvement. The only downside is that the actual spy missions are pretty useless most of the time.
