Weren't aware Ibeto was richer than Dangote before Obasanjo took over the government and made Dangote the richest man in Africa by taking Ibeto's importation license of rice, floor, and cement which he was on top. He went as far as closing his portharcourt depot which was the biggest in the country at that time.

Ibeto lost the cement war because Dangote had ambitions to dominate the cement market in Africa while Ibeto had ambitions for cement factory in Ebonyi state. While Dangote was acquiring limestone minerals all over nigeria and all over Africa, Ibeto only acquired limestone minerals in Ebonyi state.

Thousands of other licenses were canceled. Dangote doesn't pay duties. Government patronage is what keeps Dangote where he is today, not his effort.
