This will make a man out of you. I miss this stuff, I worked as a crewman on a USFS fire engine in 1980's in Klamath N.F. We also had some top notch lady firefighters as well. They were family.

Props to you for dealing with the Klamath that terrain suckkks lol! Some of the hardest workers I've met have been ladies in fire, they kick ass!

When I smell wildfire and the hot ash after the fires, it sends a hundred memories up my spine. I remember all the sweat, pain, laughter, and the breathtaking views, and the feeling in my stomach when I looked up on them.

Our pleasure. We love doing it, unfortunately fire is happening more and more in the urban interface so we've been protecting communities as well

@@CuttinChris how do you keep clean?
@CuttinChris2 жыл бұрын
@@emmanuelawosusi2365 we don't lol. We all bring baby wipes so we can somewhat clean ourselves every other day or so while spiking out. But if we're in an established firecamp. There will be mobile shower trailers. Theyre nice but the lines are usually super long when there's hundreds if not thousands of people in a camp.

I always wondered why they dont do thinning projects or do smaller burns to prevent huge wild fires like the natives used to?
@CuttinChris2 жыл бұрын
We do! Its just hard to get through the red tape of forest regulations and it depends on who's land it is etc. Our crew burned around 2000 acres surrounding a town to create defensible space this last season. This 2023 we will be doing more prescribed fire in oregon as well
