What a genuine surprise it was for me, to see this old girl out and about yesterday! I knew LSL were going to do a test run, but I thought it was just going to be one of their 47s or 37s. So I was thrilled to see 40013 at Chester station, my all time favourite BR diesel locomotive class. The 40s are a rarity on the mainline nowadays, because there's only handful of them left. With a new coat of paint and the added full yellow ends, it's obvious the loco has recently gone through a winter maintenance job.

It went into the Down Refuge, you can't get a full aspect into there only a subsidiary signal. Hth.
