I have learned from the many years of watching Judge Judy that if you’re the plaintiff and she tell you to hush while the defendant is making their testimony your best bet is to hush because she have saw flaws in their testimony and you probably have won your case if you just hush. 😂

All she has to do is look at the damage on both vehicles to know whether it was a rear-end collision or an impact during a lane-change. It's honestly pretty easy to conclude what already happened based on that alone. If, as the defendant is claiming, plaintiff simply rear-ended her after failing to stop, then there would be damage across both the entire back bumper of defendant's vehicle as well as the entire front of plaintiff's vehicle. If there is only damage to the front-right side of plaintiff's vehicle, and the back-left side of defendant's vehicle, then it's pretty easy to tell who is lying. The damage speaks for itself. The testimony of each party seals the deal.

sounds to me like they where arriving at a light where a 2 laned road merges into a 3 laned light, so that one lane may turn left. The mother, perhaps not thinking about it, forgot to merge into the left lane. Typically, People like to fluff their stories to fit what they think will make them win the case. JJ is not interested in fluff. She wants facts. If you notice, if she says that, its almost always because she’s caught someone lying or with an inconsistent story. people should be given lengthy training before appearing in court so that they know how to address the judge as your honor and to read over their complaint and keep a copy to bring to court so that their story and testimony is credible and consistent; learn to listen to the judge's instructions, not argue with the judge, be quiet when told to be quiet and dress appropriately when appearing in court. Always show respect which means that Judge Judy would never have had a show because most of the litigants have been scraped off the bottom of the polluted ocean.
