Happy 90th birthday Ms Bloom. A fan of Limelight from India here

Limelight restored my will to live and the film's trajectory follows my own life. I am a disabled singer/actress, who sacrificed my own love life and career to look after the person closest to me, and my life is now thriving, as does Terry's in the film, now that I am no longer a carer. It is the film of my lifetime and it keeps me alive in the dark times. 💝💝💝💝

I love this film... true love knows no age and doesn't care for the riches. We love a person for who they are, their goodness and their support. It was so touching to watch her come back to life emotionally and physically under his caring hand, he didn't expect anything in return, what he did was pure and unselfish and she returned the favor with her love but he didn't want to tie her down and chose to let her go out of real love, wanting what was best for her.

Even today, the prospect of having been side by side with the Great Charlie Chaplin… one if those Life Goals, ill never cease pursuing, and will never reach. But worth it! What a beautiful woman and an amazing entertainer!

Charles Chaplin full length feature movies should be shown to every child/adolescent in the company of their parent/guardian. They are all beautifully human. He was a true humanitarian.

Claire has a shinning light in her eyes and quick and entusiastic reactions like a young person, She has some mistake in her DNA because it's impossible to have 81 years old with that kind of spirit. Wonderful!

Many, many years ago Clare Bloom in my one time young eyes was the worlds most beautiful woman, she still is.

A most beautiful film, LIMELIGHT As a Soprano--Songwriter myself , I love to sing " ETERNALLY" & have done so in the United Kingdom, Claire Bloom & Charlie Chaplin are my idols.

I wish we all had that DNA. She never grows old, but she matures, and she's still incredibly beautiful with that same smile and profile. You know, I think she'd still look amazing wearing her trademark "widow's peak" hairstyle from the 1960's. I don't believe there is any one actor, not even Lord Larry, Sir John, Sir Ralph, Dame Judith or Dame Edith, who plays Shakespeare as if he wrote the roles with her in mind. Her performances seem so effortless, conversational, and real.

Claire Bloom is an excellent, lovely actress who really exudes grace, charm, and wit. And she said it: No one can stifle Chaplin.

But at least Charlie got to whisper (under a smile) "F**k you!" repeatedly in the famous news film clip when the American media decided to honour and forgive him late in life. This is what Claire Bloom states in her book Leaving a Doll's House as he asked her to stand beside him at the honouring.

Actually, every 81 years old should be like that, but people allow life to beat them down by the time they have reached that age.

How many films have you seen all the cast wandering around the set using a personal mic? ;-)

She looks a bit like French actress Françoise Fabian

I think the reason her head is darting from side to side is she's trying to engage an audience and the host at the same time, rather than performing for the camera. Why she's using a hand mic at all is it's a public venue, not a studio.

I thought professionals knew how to use a mic...her head is all over but the mic stays put
@funboy797911 жыл бұрын
DJs, singers, MCs -- these would be "professionals" experienced in using a hand microphone. Stage and film actors not so much ...
