WOW! I cannot imagine a piece by Debussy would be played on a vibarphone or xylophone in general. Great work m8!
@Andriale4 жыл бұрын
Very old comment but unless I'm mistaken I'm pretty sure a vibraphone isn't a xylophone, a marimba would be classified as a xylophone I know that much
@Andriale4 жыл бұрын
@Marwan Lee I don’t think you got what I’m saying, I’ve been in percussion for 10 years. OC said “or xylophone in general” which I took to mean that you thought the vibraphone is part of the xylophone family. Xylophones, including xylophones themselves or marimbas, are exclusively with wooden bars.

I'm playing this on Standard bells and I only have two mallets. I can easily do the parts where it doesn't require a lot of notes at once, but it also doesn't have the full length of any sort of mallet instrument or piano. Please help. P.S. I'm trying to do this for my Grandma for Christmas.
@tylerisfunny5 жыл бұрын
I might try and use the arrangement as a guideline to make your own simplified arrangement that focuses on just playing the main melodies through the piece. You may also think about recording some kind of simple accompaniment part on the bells with a phone or laptop. You can then use that to play the main melodies along with to create a more full performance. Hope this helps!

great work my man, and i'd like to give you a bit of feedback on it, but first say i would only be talking as an awestruck listener, i can't even play the opening chords of this on the piano without mistakes, but it is my all time favourite piece of music, i know it backwards, so i'm always interested to hear when musicians or arrangers customise it, either actually changing the music, or radically interpreting it. I would say this is the most upbeat, joyous and MALE interpretation of what is a very feminine piece, very percussive, hard attacks, and i especially love how you've changed the 2:30 - 3:00 part to be almost jazzy and bluesy in place. I find that minute 2:30 to roughly 2:45 is the only part of Clair De Lune my mind wanders in, so it was great to have something new to keep me focussed. I really enjoyed it and will come back to it. One thing though might be of interest to you, which is an extraordinary change I've heard in the version by Sayaka Nojiri, she has introduced single high notes in the 5:02 section, to devastating effect, it's the only interpretation I've ever heard it in, and works so well, if you haven't heard it, it's on youtube, someone has uploaded it along with the Tomita classic, side by side. I would urge you to listen to it it's fantastic. Keep up the good work!

I feel like the mallet choice held this back a bit, but overall it’s good. The mallets just make the bars sound like tin.
@senoreverything63664 жыл бұрын
These mallets make it sound more bright, like it's out of a music box, which personally I think works better. I actually agree with his mallet choice.
