I appreciated how well this scene was done. And Jamie just listened, didn’t overreact and simply believed her. You could see Claire’s relief ... and disbelief that he simply took it in and wanted to know more. And then what a man he was to take her there, without her asking or knowing. King of men indeed! Despite that it would hurt him, he put her first. And Claire then made the right decision too - she chose Jamie. ❤️

one of the most fascinating things I found in this series is that how a person who has been a part of one party's wars and battles and then in the next moment they find themselves in the opponent's party and how she realises how difficult it was for the scots. Claire's story reestablishes the notion that it's always about our perspective and which side we are perceiving from. but there are other fascinating things in this series as well like jamie and Claire's lovestory, how it started and it turned out to be the most important to both of them.

I love this scene but I don't fully understand it. Jaime was very familiar with the folk tales about the stones and the travellers, he even explained it to Clair one night at castle lioch, but here he acts like he knows nothing about it. Strange.
@TheCrochetCritters3 жыл бұрын
Being familiar with something does not mean one believes in them. Jamie didn't believe in changelings when Claire asked him about it while holding a dying baby. To him it was just a coping mechanism for the parents who were grieving the loss of a child. That there was actually some truth in the story about the traveling stones must've been a shock to him. I'd say it's comparable to reading the stories of Grimm or Andersen and then realising that a few of them have been true all along.

Claire didn't mention the Standing Stones in her confession at first. Only later when she told him the whole story in more detail (at least it is so in the books and Jamie was confused and withdrew to think). It is an excellently played scene by both actors. I loved it.

I love this series. Ive finished it yesterday and honestly I feel like s**t. This is strange but happens to me when I finish very good series. Ive had this when I finished GoT, The Walking Dead and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Because of this my entire real life just feels so boring. I am just feeling that the universe I am living isnt that good. Imagine if there was magic or sth like that. I feel really really sad. I could easily compare this to losing someone important in my life but its just a series. Am I normal? 🙄

I mean the series isn’t done. Part of why your life feels boring this because you are sheltered from true unrelenting danger. Trust me, you’d be begging for boredom if you were growing up in a multitude of places right now in 2023. Who needs magic to make the world even more dangerous? Perhaps you’d feel better if you volunteered in your local community. You need to have a sense of purpose and gratitude can certainly help with feelings of being lost.
