Just like my Mom used to make! People think it's weird to mash in the skin and the bones, but the bones are so soft and the skin gets all mashed inside. We never put the green spice inside, and the lemon zest. But the finely chopped onion was a mist! We also used crushed Premium soda crackers instead of the bread crumbs we bake it at the same time and degrees. It is one of my favorites. In fact I'm making it for Mew Years Eve 2023 dinne! I just wanted to see how many people make it the same way as we do. You were the closest! It's good cold as leftovers. We put ours in a square 8 or 9 inch pan though. It comes out easier. I'm going to turn 76 on February 23, 2024. I might even have this for my birthday supper! Thank Yoi! ❤😊❤

Just bought a Lodge cast iron loaf pan because of this video flick. Been eating canned salmon all my life. The salmon loaf rocked me. I’ll be doing Honey Boy canned pink salmon, garlic, onion, jalapeño, Hungarian paprika, cracker crumbs, eggs, and shredded Swiss cheese. I can’t wait! Mahalo!

Thanks for the fab video and reminding me how good salmon loaf is. I used to make it yeeeaaars ago and as i recall would make a white sauce with madras curry to go with it. will have to experiment now and try to re-create it. Your recipe for the loaf looks spot on.

Ive never made a meat loaf or salmon loaf before! My first time having some sort of meat loaf was back in November at the hospital after having my baby. They provided me a nice breakfast,lunch and dinner and one of the dinners provided tonme happened to be a meat loaf with a side of peas and mushrooms and a little ball of mashed potatoes with gravy it was insanely delicious! I was wondering if a gravy would go well with salmon loaf? Thanks for the beautiful explanation on how to make this dish! I will attempt to make it for my family in hopes to have a new dinner added to my rotation!id love to have meatloaf monday, taco tuesday etc .

Cute top! Couldn't you just turn the pan over and take the whole loaf out before slicing?
@AC-hi4ni2 жыл бұрын
Why don't you just line your pan with parchment paper and you'll never have a problem taking out the first piece of the loaf. The whole loaf will be lifted out in perfect form :
