Lyrics…ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ Between the gaps, I was swimming laps Got close to some epiphany I'll convince a friend to join deep ends Have your toes touch the lack of cement We'll gather to our corner of the woods Echo chambers inside a neighborhood In centerfold, humility's shown You're not as good as what your mama's sewn Aren't you glad that you reside in a hell and in disguise? Nobody yet everything, a pool to shed your memory Could you say you've even tried? You haven't called your family twice I can hope tonight goes differently, but I show up to the party just to leave Between the gaps, keep it under wraps How I got to some epiphany I'll convince myself when it turns to 12 The photos keep the sentiment We'll gather to our corner of the woods Echo chambers inside a neighborhood In centerfold, humility's shown You're not as good as what your mama's sewn Aren't you glad that you reside in a hell and in disguise? Nobody yet everything, a pool to shed your memory Could you say you even tried? You haven't called your family twice I can hope tonight goes differently, but I show up to the party just to leave Pulling back, I tried to find the point of wasting precious time I sip and toast to normalcy, a fool's way into jealousy I mock and imitate goodbyes when I know that I can't deny That I'll be here forever-while, I show up to the party just to leave ~ I've been scrolling forever trying to find the lyrics & no luck, so this is for me and anyone who needs it

this album is gonna hit everyone in the music industry. She's gonna become bigger and bigger , this is so much different than everything she has done before. Her music style is maturing, shes growing as an artist and im so happy.
@kanyesmemeemporium8363 жыл бұрын
I guess, but her old style with Pretty Girl and Sofia was a lot more bedroom pop and in my opinion really set her apart. Those songs (and this one in particular) were incredible.
@anniee55.3 жыл бұрын
@@kanyesmemeemporium836 yeah i agree with this too, im not saying she didnt do fire music back then, im just happy that shes doing something different and entering a (possibly) new style of music. Everyone knew her as the "soft bedroom pop artist'' and that was doing the job, but i guess she wanted to prove her producing and singing skills on a higher level.
@berkharth8473 жыл бұрын
Sadly it didn't "hit everyone". Quality isn't measured by views but if you compare her to someone like Eilish, Clairo's blown away. She isn't really getting that much reach or hasn't been as viral as the Pretty Girl days. Though it's cool that she didn't want to replicate the sounds that made her famous, it shows she's following her own path. I've seen her three times live, like her music and had no idea she released a new album:/ it didn't go viral.
@kanyesmemeemporium8363 жыл бұрын
@@berkharth847 tbh I don’t think she’ll go viral or get that much more popular unless she goes back to the bedroom pop style. She’s undoubtedly a super talented singer but these songs kind of lack the charm that she has in her OG songs.

My daughter plays this album a lot in my car; I continue to be struck by how masterfully it's produced. It's soft, simple in its complexities. It borrows generously from mid-to-late 70's/early 80's instrumentation: subtle Stevie Wonder keyboards, Fleetwood Mac/Lindsay Buckingham guitar licks, little drops of perfectly timed steel guitar (early 70's folk-rock (Buffalo Springfield, Eagles, early Linda Rodstadt)), even some nods to English folk-rock drumming/time (Sandy Denny/Fairport Convention). I'd love to learn more about the producer and studio musicians. Though this album pulls together so many influences from the past, the finished product is groundbreaking and unexpected. I just love it.

The haze from neon signs of all colours glistening on their glassy eyes. They look around, finally coming to face with the fact that they are lost, just going wherever their feet would take them. A short distance away is a small Italian pizza restaurant, the only shop still open at this hour. As they get closer, the faintly hear this song playing as the staff busily cook away. They slowly close their umbrella and shake it off, and walk into the small restaurant. I had a pink ipod touch that i would listen to music on, all night and until I fell asleep. I remember i had come back from a visit with my parents, the first time seeing my mom in almost 6 months. I was slumped against the wall of the kitchen in the dorm, next to the bedroom. I had finished my chores and was just listening to this song, and i was crying. Not so much, not loudly, but i remember the tears coming down. It was the most releaving cry i had ever had. After the months of being away, being afraid in a new place full of strangers and an uncertain path ahead, i felt safe. I let it out.

I think this one and blouse are my favorites, this album is so soft and calming and I love it. I kind of miss the more… idk, indie (actually bedroom pop as someone noted in the comments)? Vibes from songs like 4ever, pretty girl or flaming hot Cheetos. This is more of a Bubblegum meets Sofia vibes. I think

This song is akin to Regina Spektor's work. Lyricism that's uncommon and bold, a funky melody that makes you stop to listen, and a meaning to ponder. Thank you for this masterpiece, Clairo.
