Probably because there weren’t many Pagan “carols” recorded after they were forcibly converted to Christianity and had their holidays used as a basis for Christmas
@Arckaro
@Arckaro 3 жыл бұрын
@@carsonstephens2508 well, there are plenty of carols that say nothing about Christianity, and you seem to know very little about true history... Really. This modern sentiment about pagan culture stripped from them was seldomly shared by people in the middle ages, for example. You should read the analyzis of myths by lets say Terry Gunnel

And how! I don't necessarily mind those songs... But after over a decade in the service industry, 3yrs of which were spent night cleaning floors in a grocery store... I've developed a fairly low opinion of canned, non offensive, non denominational, and approved for the woke public Christmas music that gets played on loop in such places. Frosty... Snow... Trees... Jingle -freaking- BELLS!! Some mish mashed combination thereof, are all they played some year's. (Notably, because of anti-Christian complaints about public displays of Christian Christmas Displays/Music. [Specifically members of Freedom from Religion Foundation] )

I follow no recognised religion, but the fact is those of faith put everything they have into their music, and it shows in the results. This, and all like it, is beautiful, along with other things like the architecture of the faithful because it's their whole being. Long may it be so. Greetings of the season, however you choose to observe it!

@igorcavalcanti9375 7 жыл бұрын
LORD Sauron I don't have a favourite race, but I love how both edain and elves have so different fates. The elves are doomed to live forever with the consequences of their actions. The edain will eventually perish but they will be able to live a life that have more freedom than the elves because their actions won't echo through eternity like the elves but through a little sparkle of time. For both races their greatest gift is also their greatest curse.

Igor Cavalcanti My favorite race is dwarves.I don’t like elves.They are very haughty.People they are simple.But dwarves I like for their brave,kind.They can be strange revengeful.I know all kings of clan of Durin.I also like hobbits.Everyone likes hobbits.Bilbo Baggins is and Sam are my favorite hobbits.But I don’t like Frodo.Only Sam did not yield to the will of the ring and he easy refused from ring.There was one thing which is stronger than valars and Gandalf and other istars.He is stronger than Eru.He is Gollum.I think that arkenstone is cooler than silmarill

LORD Sauron it's not that I don't like the dwarves, it's just that I think the philosophy of Tolkien's work is better represented in the relationship between elves and edain. The dwarves have great characters, great heroes but sometimes I think they don't have the philosophy that edain and elves have.

Alas my love you do me wrong To cast me off discourteously; And I have loved you oh so long Delighting in your company. Greensleeves was my delight, Greensleeves my heart of gold Greensleeves was my heart of joy And who but my Lady Greensleeves. I have been ready at your hand To grant whatever thou would'st crave; I have waged both life and land Your love and goodwill for to have. ===================== Same melody as: ===================== What Child is this Who laid to rest On Mary's lap is sleeping? Whom Angels greet with anthems sweet, While shepherds watch are keeping? This, this is Christ the King, Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing Haste, haste, to bring Him laud, The Babe, the Son of Mary. Het Luitboek van Thysius has this melody in it.. Christmas and New Year texts were associated with the tune from as early as 1686, and by the 19th century almost every printed collection of Christmas carols included some version of words and music together, most of them ending with the refrain "On Christmas Day in the morning". One of the most popular of these is "What Child Is This?", written in 1865 by William Chatterton Dix. Interesting. I only knew greensleeves, welp, the more you know.
