Here is our rendition of "De Profundis." We hope you enjoy it:)
Music and lyrics taken from:
Wednesday Vespers psalm 129 mode 8c
Libera Me from Office of the Dead
Invitiatorium from Matins of the Dead
With additional original interludes
Song commissioned by:
Eryn Huntington for her departed daughter and son in law.
Please, in your charity, remember their souls and all the faithful departed during this month of November. The De Profundis and the Requiem Aeternam are indulgenced prayers that apply the faithful departed. Pray for the Poor Souls!
We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed singing it!
Lyrics:
Latin:
De profundis clamavi ad te, Domine; Domine, exaudi vocem meam.
Fiant aures tuae intendentes in vocem deprecationis meae.
Si iniquitates observaveris, Domine, Domine, quis sustinebit?
Quia apud te propitiatio est; et propter legem tuam sustinui te, Domine. Sustinuit anima mea in verbo ejus; speravit anima mea in Domino.
A custodia matutina usque ad noctem, speret Israel in Domino;
quia apud Dominum misericordia, et copiosa apud eum redemptio.
Et ipse redimet Israel ex omnibus iniquitatibus ejus.
Libera Me Domine de morte aeterna
Regem cui omnia vivunt
Venite Adoremus
De Profundis clamavi Domine
Domine exaudi me et libera me
Venite Adoremus
Ave Maria, ora pro nobis
Sancta Maria, in hora mortis
Regem cui omnia vivunt
Venite Adoremus
Requiem aeternam dona eis Domine
et lux perpetua luceat eis
Venite Adoremus
Regem cui omnia vivunt
Venite Adoremus
English Translation:
Out of the depths I have cried to thee, O Lord: Lord, hear my voice. Let thy ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication. If thou, O Lord, wilt mark iniquities: Lord, who shall stand it. For with thee there is merciful forgiveness: and by reason of thy law, I have waited for thee, O Lord. My soul hath relied on his word: My soul hath hoped in the Lord.
From the morning watch even until night, let Israel hope in the Lord.
Because with the Lord there is mercy: and with him plentiful redemption. And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
Deliver me, o Lord, from death eternal on that fearful day
The King, unto whom all things do live, come let us adore.
Out of the depths I cried, O Lord.
O Lord, hear me and deliver me.
Come let us adore.
Hail Mary, pray for us
Holy Mary, at the hour of death
The King, unto whom all things do live, come let us adore.
Eternal rest give unto them O Lord: and let perpetual light shine unto them.
Come let us adore.
The King, unto whom all things do live, come let us adore.

Thank you, thank you Clamavi de Profundis, for creating this exquisite piece to help the Holy Souls! May God reward you! Please let people know that both the De Profudis and the Requiem Aeturnum are indulgenced prayers that apply the glorious merits of the Saints and Holy Mother Church to our own prayers and sacrifices to help free our beloved dead from Purgatory so they may enter into the light of God's Presence. These prayers are highly efficacious! To those who enjoy this piece: Please spare a moment to pray for the souls of my daughter, Madelyn Huntington Haldeman Tesar, 25, and her husband, Sgt. Shane David William Tesar, 34, who died unprepared earlier this year. This piece was commissioned for them and all of the Holy Suffering Souls. Requiescant en pace. May God bless you for remembering them all.

I was taken back to my youth - pre teen - where I attended a small, rural parish. Our priest, an Irishman, would often perform mass in Latin, and *always* sung in Latin. He had an amazing voice. Until today, it has been decades since I've recalled those times; recalled the power of it. I have believed those were the memories of an awestruck young altar boy ... Maybe I was wrong.

I lost both of my parents to Covid this past January, may they rest in peace, and my heart and soul have been thanking God for His infinite mercies, and longing, out of the depths, for something from Clamavi De Profundis, since you have continued to provide for the last few years, a soothing and healing balm to my soul, courage to persevere - the perfect music when I needed it most, from all your sacred music (esp. Viriliter Agite) to Boic Bravesoul, Kaia, Brigit, Hulda, Ragna of the Viking village; Fr. Edvard & Bjorn; Oshrjad; all the characters in The Battle of World Stone Keep; to all of your amazing Renditions of JRR Tolkien's works, and that's just off the top of my head! May God bless each and everyone of you! Please continue your work - you give great glory to God through it!!!

My least favorite Clamavi Songs are : Oshrad Bonebreaker (slow as hell and the story does not inspire me), In Western Lands (weird accoustic, weird tone), Strong (long song, very weak text). I would argue that those are bad songs. Not actively bad, but definitely songs that I did not feel like listening twice. Granted, they have still some auditive qualities. I means, the guys are quite skilled after all. But they are able to produce weak piece from time to time. It's an exception, though.

Well beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Some may call a piece a classic, a masterpiece, fine art. But with some it doesn't vibe and we have to accept that there are different tastes. Every single ones perception is different and has to be respected. Don't let us stick our nose in the air and feel higher and better than others :) PS: once on a communication training a Woman brought a photo of a somewhat crude sculpture with her. She said we should write down what we think about it. What is the man feeling etc. And everyone wrote down: oh he seems anxious, afraid, defensive, etc. I thought He looked more curious with bis open eyes and hands somewhat behind his ears. But fact is, we where all "wrong". We couldn't possibly know what really was the intention of the artist. And thats a thing we should always keep in mind. We should start to interpret less and ask more questions :) And comming back to the og topic: everyone reacts and feels different about things :) There is absolutely no point in arguing about taste. That would be a great tip for most of YT, social media and life in general. Wow i am sorry xD i didn't want to sound Like a know it all. This memory just came into my mind and i thought i d like to share it

It is so refreshing to see a relatively popular musical group be unapologetically Catholic in a world of such degeneracy. Portæ inferni non prævalebunt. Fidelium animæ, per misericordiam requiescant in pace. Viva Cristo Rey!

This is a concept that is beyond me, specifically, the Love of God. Yet, I can forgive, and that at least means I learned a little bit from our Father.

apparently 9 Lutherans disliked this... seriously though, absolutely beautiful.

Why would we dislike this? After all CDP also sang a Lutheran song ("Oh Haupt voll Blut und Wunden" or "Oh sacred head surrounded) already and we still thing the Liturgy of the old church, only in our mother tongue. You´re thinking of reformed, baptists or mainstream evangelicals

FINALLY! I've gotten so tired of the cheap D&D pulp fiction songs, it's great to see Clamavi de Profundis returning to one of their best genres: epic Latin religious songs! So GOOD!!! You are my favorite music group out there Clamavi, and I love your work, but the last few months have been really disappointing since Dromore and Viriliter Agite were such masterpieces (TGA and April fools were great too). Please keep going with this! Or at least some other genre (celtic/folk, real LOTR, Christmas, etc.) that you so excel at!

We get a little bit of everything over the course of a year :) Its great that they do this variety of songs so everyone gets something they like.

Yes, it is nice to get a LITTLE bit of everything, but 6 months in a row was highly disappointing.

@@everrettbreezewood3665 but didn't they do 2 in the first half of the year and had the same difference between their 'other genre' songs in the second half of last year too? Well, maybe I missed one.

People have different tastes. I imagine there is some overlap between the different styles, but not for everyone. Looking at the amount of views for these type of songs, they seem to be a bit less popular than the D&D ones for example. I can imagine that plays a role in what they produce.
