Honestly, I respect Clam Casino’s sound as it is so clear and just mixed so well together in any track he’s produced. Check out cLOUDDEAD (self-titled album from hip-hop trio cLOUDDEAD). It came out in 2001 and definitely has a very ethereal/dreamy feel to the instrumentals. Kinda like proto-cloud rap. I would recommend only listening to the instrumentals, though, as the rough vocal mixing can be quite grating on otherwise beautiful beats.
