Thanks for your comment SingleMalt77005, much appreciated by Jim and I. Mrs Mackintosh is indeed a very special lady. Both Jim and I are very happy and privileged to have spent the time with her making our Mackintosh film. We are very proud to have Mrs Mackintosh as a cherished friend. Warmest wishes. Hi SR, Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on the Mackintosh film. We genuinely appreciate it. Jim and I have had a number of good folks, like yourself, comment from all over the world about their Mackintosh ancestry. It does make you wonder how many people in total are linked to the Clan Mackintosh and other Scottish Clans, I'll bet there are quite a few? Thanks again SR! Wishing you health and happiness from Bonnie Scotland. Ian & Jim The Twa Togs. 😁

Wow! Just found this. Thankyou! Actually I just bought the book from Amazon. Incredible stories. Puts so much together for me that I never knew. Just for trivia, My Uncle Bob McIntosh was president of Bulova Watch Canada in the 60's and is the one who brought in the jewels & swiss movement. He was not happy when things went digital. Also according to Jeff Healy (famous Canadian blind bluesman) as the son of my Uncle Doug McIntosh's Wife's sister Uncle Doug taught him to play guitar on his lap sitting on my uncles knee. No One plays the guitar like Jeff & I mean no one. Simply one of kind. Charles Thomas McIntosh, Winnipeg Mb, Born Toronto Ontario Canada.

Hi Chuck, We hope you are well? Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our wee film and make a comment, which Jim and I really appreciate. We are glad you enjoyed the Clan Mackintosh film. We really enjoyed researching and making this particular film and made some great friends in the process. Both your uncle Bob and Doug sound like they were very interesting characters. Albeit, I don't know a lot about Jeff Healy, what I do know, as you rightly said, he was an incredible musician/singer, his guitar playing was truly unique. A sad loss to the world of music. Thanks again Chuck and warm wishes from Scotland. Ian and Jim, the Twa Togs.

Thank you for posting! I am descended from Clan Mackintosh - my 7th great grandfather was Alexander MacIntosh (ca 1695-ca 1750) who sold Blervie Castle which was eventually owned by his father-in-law, William Duff, Earl of Fife in the 1700's. He and his wife later moved to America and in the end had a large family - total of 22 children. So considering that so many of the MacIntosh Clan were lost at Culloden, I now understand how the origin of the folk saying in my family began - 'if there's a death in the family, there will soon be a birth of a child-nature reasserts itself.' If one is lost, another rises in their place. People working through grief, too. When I was discovered my Scottish ancestry, I was speechless at simple family sayings and stories that have been handed down and what they possibly meant. Would love to visit Scotland some day - Best to you all. :)

A big warm Scottish hello from Jim and I @calicomist9213. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment on our Clan Mackintosh film. It genuinely means so much to us both. Your Clan is undoubtedly one of the top Clans in Scotland with a very rich history. Jim and I only covered a small segment of the Mackintosh story. There's a whole lot more! We had a great 2 days wandering around and filming on the lands of your ancestors and to top it all, we made a great new friend in the Clan Chief, John Mackintosh of Mackintosh's Mother, Mrs Mackintosh of Mackintosh, a real wonderful and beautiful person. We hope you do get to come to Scotland some day and see where your ancestors once lived, loved and fought in the name of Mackintosh, if you do make it over, you definitely will not be disappointed that's for sure. Take care, stay happy @calicomist9213. Thanks again. 😁 👍 Ian and Jim The Twa Togs.

Being a Davidson, this just happened to make it to my KZbin wall. I know the Davidsons came from the Mackintosh Clan a millennia ago. The second or third son of the 7th Chief had a daughter that married off into the Comyn family. From there was a Donald Comyn, down to a Donald Dubh, then David Dubh, and then from him came my paternal name Davidson. I've heard that we were from the Pictish tribes, but not sure to what certainty that is true.

Hi TatorMan73, thanks for taking the time to comment on our Clan Mackintosh film. It's genuinely appreciated by Jim and I. As you probably know, Clan Davidson played a huge part in the founding of Clan Chatten along with the MacPherson Clan. Still going strong to this day. From what we have picked up from our research, it's thought that David Dubh, (Cummings/Comyn) the founder of Clan Davidson (Clan Dhia) is a direct descendant from the Picts? There are apparently many stories on the formation of your ancestoral Clan, all of them, probably, with a little bit of truth in them. That's part of what makes Scottish history what it is I suppose. Thanks again for for your lovely comment. Stay safe and well. The Twa Togs. 😁 👍

The castle in the Clan Mackintosh film is Rait Castle, which was originally owned by the Comyn Clan. (originally known as De Rait) The castle is not far from Nairn, close to Inverness. As you will have seen in the film, the big story of the castle is the slaughter of the Comyn's and the ghost of the daughter of the owner of the castle, who murdered her for having an affair with a young Mackintosh and and passing on secret info to him. The full story is in our film. Keep up your research into your ancestors. Like Jim and I, you'll get a brilliant buzz from it. 😁 👍

Hi Chris, thank you so much for taking the time to comment. That's amazing that you have tracked you lineage all the way back to Angus the 22nd Mackintosh and his amazing wife Lady Anne. The story of 'Colonel Anne' is fascinating and we could make a film just about her on her own. Just had a wee look at Robert Mcintosh's ('the bandmaster') history. Born in Perthshire, travelling to Australia on the 'Windham' and becoming a farmer/settler is a story in its self that fits in well with the overall fantastic history of the Clan Mackintosh. 😁 Cheers Chris. Hello Ms Writer, Warm greetings from Scotland. Thank you for taking the the time to watch our wee film about Clan Mackintosh, and also for making your comment. It’s truly appreciated by Jim and I. That’s a shame that you couldn’t understand some of our Scottish dialect. As you may have gathered, we are very proud of our Scottish history and heritage and we make these short Scottish history films just for fun and to get some of the lesser known history stories and their locations out to folks across the world with the hope folks might find them interesting. We are not professional film makers and we are learning with every film that we make, so your comment will help us with future adventures, thanks for that. So I’m very interested to learn. Technically, I work in marketing, so if I may suggest to give my feedback to perhaps help on future projects …In regards to your accents, I love the sound of your voices talking, but, I think the volume is too low due to microphone challenges , so the music makes it harder for me to hear the consonants. Hi there MvtteBlvk, Thank you so much for your comment and taking the time to watch our short film about Clan Mackintosh, it’s very much appreciated by Jim and I. Yes, you are totally correct about the Scottish descendants in Jamaica, in fact, It has been said that up to 60% of names in the Jamaican telephone directory are Scottish in origin there is evidence that a list of the 30 most common surnames in Jamaica, include Anderson, which is my own surname, Campbell, Gordon, Graham, Grant, Malcolm, Millar and Dixson. Again you are spot on with the original cause being that of Scottish prisoners of war from the Cromwellian wars, the Jacobite rebellions and the Covenanters uprising were all exiled to Jamaica and other Caribbean Islands such as Barbados. Many of these exiles were taken as slaves who worked alongside slaves of African descent in the sugar plantations. Wow! 6000 McIntosh’s living in Jamaica. That is amazing. We’ll be sure to let Mrs Mackintosh of Mackintosh know of this fact. Stay happy and safe MvtteBlvk. Thanks again from the Twa Togs!
