This documentary puts together a visual journey into folk cosmology of an Andhra village based on collection of visual recordings during field visits undertaken for an ethno-historical study conducted in 2008-10 and intermittent visits since then. It captures the significant moments during the village celebrations to invoke and propitiate the Mathangi, the tutelary deity of the village and clan goddess of the Madigas (an ex-untouchable community of leather workers) who officiate as the priest/priestess. The lens towards the end records the presence of the Dakkali, a Madiga genealogist and a way of life that is on the brink of extinction.
