That tapestry look is freaking beautiful. I unfortunately do not live anywhere near the land of milk and honey, so I began a tapestry of sorts by using winter hardy sedums, sempervivums, and other ground cover plants. It has been filling out extremely well, and now have friends getting into the same landscape design. I contribute it all to team DFS, and always give credit where credit is due!

Hi Laura, your son’s garden is growing so beautifully! It would be super helpful if you could show us how you treat the aloe mite on the Ferox. I for one would love to learn! Enjoy your family time and happy birthday to your son!

I say yes removing the branch on the palo verde. It’ll give more strength to the other branches and will grow faster and do it now before the summer stress hits in, it’ll be healed by then

One of my favorite things to do is cut and reset the rubertinktum. I also love to take a bunch of them off the plant a watch them grow into plants at the base of the leggy ones. They are very fast to regrow!

Beautiful yard. I agree with cutting off that branch on the Desert Museum. It is quickly becoming a specimen garden.

I've had 2 Mangaves rot - one in the ground (Bloodlines) and one in a pot (Queen of the Night) ... but both were crown rot (from the top) and not root rot.

Desert willow does not really know how to be a tree. We had to discipline them very strictly in El Paso, the wild type, not Destert Museum. Removing that branch is necessary to balance it ! Go for it!! Oh, and what a success of design and planting!!

Hi Laura! Great videos. I’m learning a lot about succulents and have started a small garden. I want to ask the name of the two taller spiked desert-looking trees at the beginning of the video. They are close to the sunbursts near front walkway. One has dried leaves at the bottom of it and the other does not and is full and round. What is the name of those? I have maybe three that look like they are dried and dying from bottom almost to the top tips. Any suggestions on what type of treatment for them? Thanks in advance.
