Wow ! Clarence is incredible in all aspects of flat picking a guitar ! I first heard Crazy Creek on a Bottle Hill Boys (Madison NJ) album. Lew London played guitar, I think. Never heard Clarence do it! the rest of this is pure delight to listen to. Thanks for sharing this. All of Clarence's playing, be it Easy Rider or the Kentucky Colonels, has just knocked my socks off ! Still today.

Wow this stuff is great! Big Clarence fan. Love Django too, Track 9 sounds like a lot of gypsy jazz licks strung together. I know they listened to Django, so that might be what it is rather than one specific song.

The last five cuts, 11 through 15, feature Doc Watson playing lead, not Clarence. On those cuts, Clarence is playing backup to Doc. I have heard the complete tape of this Doc/Clarence session, which is much longer than those five cuts, and it was recorded considerably earlier than 1967; possibly as early as 1963. My understanding is that it was an informal recording done in a hotel room or somebody's home, possibly made by Clarence himself, during one of the weeks when Doc was performing at the Ash Grove in Los Angeles.

James523001 The recording was done @ Roy Noble's house in Van Nuys California Roy Noble made two Brasilian rosewood guitars for Clarence and a mahogany for Doc Watson. Doc would always stay at Roy's house when he came to the LA area and Roy. Al Ross or Chuck Erickson would drive Doc to his gigs and interviews.
