Hi Clarice, I'm one of your many subscribers 😊 I'm a beginner, confused and ignorant with a couple of questions at hand... I heard that we have to stretch the watercolor paper before painting, do you do that before starting the tutorials and the next question is when you paint these beautiful roses do you do immediately or do you have to wait til it dries before adding the darker colors? I would truly appreciate your help with this. Thank you so much and I will even go to the beach today to get several seashell to mix my colors. ❤XOX from across the miles 🥰❤️😘

I'm really intrigued by the kind of "reversed" method of doing the rose, where you start with lighter dilute strokes and then allow the more concentrated color to blend in afterwards. What a beautiful effect!

Light to dark is how watercolour has to be used in general, not just for roses.

Thanks Kim. Most of my earlier roses stemmed from dark centers to blending for light outers. This is similar, except going in with darker shades after ☺️

At first I wasn’t thrilled with this tutorial as the rose was too pale. Then came the colour and it’s beautiful. I’m glad I kept watching. This is one of the best tutorials on roses I have watched.
