In my book "Polka" is a polish girl . Just like "vodka" 👍 it was invented in Poland. Possibly the dance and song 🎵 polka -is Czech - but there is no guarantee.

The origin of polka is not polish. Polka was created in the Czechia. The name půlka means - half. Two note beat was unusual at the time and looked like a half bar.
