I heard you mention the adjustable barrel. I believe the standard high quality choice here is the Paulus & Schuler zoom barrel. Most professional german players use them, and I believe it's the brand Anthony Mcgill is using. They adjust a couple of mms. and I believe that this is the best solution on the market right now, IF you need to have different length barrels depending on your playing situations. But then as you mentioned, if that brand does not give you the sound you want you may be better off with pulling out your current barrel or purchase different lengths of your current model. (however they can look at your barrel and try replicating it, so I don't think you would be disapointed regarding the sound quality) They have standardized models for some buffet clarinets (and for german clarinets as well), and can custom make them for any clarinet.
