Thanks for the in depth review! I loved Everlasting two formulas ago. I will be getting that Revlon blush; it looks great on you. I would love to know you're favourite foundations... I will search your previous videos in case you have done that already.

Looks really fab on you! Which of the foundations you’ve tried are better for a drier skin?

The original MAC face and body would have been my preferred choice if you can still get it in your country? It really is a gem amongst gems. The new Mac radiant face and body (they tweaked the formula) might be good for you. It is way too shiny for me. If you can get your hands on Nars radiant glow, I believe that is also a great option. Sadly not available in SA.

The skin illusion velvet is better for me because of my oily skin xx

And won't you prefer it for dry skin

If you have dry skin, use the skin illusion.

Hi this one looks really good on you. I must say 12 shades is dismal for a higher end brand and will be difficult to find a good shade match for many people. This one isn't for me as i have very dry skin, but I also live in a much cooler place lol - it's not even 20 degrees some days in Summer, let alone Winter in Scotland. It's mid June and it's the first time it has reached 21 degrees in ages. I always wonder at the reasons companies release different shades in different places. We live in a very multicultural world nowadays with a variety of skintones in every country, so it no longer makes sense to do this. It's a very outdated practice in all honesty, as all sorts of people have migrated to every corner of the earth. If the less requested shades are only available online (as there is less space on counter) then ok maybe, but to just not be available is foolish and cutting out a large demographic of consumers. I'm someone who never fits into the most popular shades (as I'm at the extremely pale end of the spectrum), but those who have very deep skin are also not being well catered to (surely there is a demand for deep shades in Africa of all places?). As I said a whole swatch of the demographic being excluded. The foundation itself without powder lasted well for your skin and with powder should hold up in even warmer weather. I've never liked a Clarins foundation and they never have a shade match for me, but we have so much choice in todays makeup thankfully. I have liked other makeup from them however including lipsticks. Their skincare also doesn't work for my hypersensitive skin btw. Best wishes.

Hi Loraine. It's really sad that we don't get the full shade range here. But I believe it is because our market is just not big enough in terms of sales volume i.e we don't get the volume of sales that the EU, UK and USA get. That's also why we have so few make up brands per se. But yes, we definitely have the diversity of skin colours, so it's a pity that they don't cater for more of us. When Clinique launched their serum foundation in SA, I believe they only had 6 shades available. That is one of the reasons I never reviewed it, because that's just ridiculous! I do think that this velvet foundation would benefit from some powder throughout the day. And yes, it would definitely be too drying for your skin. I'm just really pleased that I have found a Clarins foundation that I like. It has literally taken me years!! Have a lovely day :)

Thanks for the review. I think they should have named it a skin tint not a foundation.

It has quite a thick texture so it's deceiving. But yes, the coverage is very light!
