I like that you showed your previous attempts. It helps to know that it's okay to try, fail and try again, and again, and again...until you like what you drew. I drew two geishas, a larger one to show the dress pattern better and a smaller one for adding the background. I am quite pleased with both of them. Can't even imagine trying to create her without a picture to refer to though.

Love, love, love your Geisha. A couple of days behind but boy am I hooked on your doodling sessions. Tried it myself first and pleased with how it came out, not perfect but loved drawing her. Did try to trace the PDF outline but the paper on my pad is too thick to see through so am using my original. Looking forward to the next session (Tuesday) and filling in her kimono. Hello Barbara, I'm very late, sorry, but I've had such a good time trying to draw the geisha and although not as good as yours, I'm happy with my effort. I've laughed myself silly, especially at the eyebrows, the Elizabethan type geisha and last but not least the Geisha who would not have looked out of place knitting at the Guillotine during the French Revolution ha ha. There was a programme about geishas on the TV many years ago and they showed a film made a long time ago which showed, and explained, how a geishas feet were treated, I felt sick when I saw them and still do when I think of it! Thank you for these videos, they will lift a lot of people's spirits.

Talk about getting involved... Barbara is rubbing out her pencil lines and I am blowing on the screen to remove the rubbings ! My micron pens are dying on me so my stash is getting a good rummaging to try and find substitutes. Didn't think I would have a hope of drawing the Geisha but she is not too bad, apart from her eyes which look like Johnny Depps pirate. Got this far and I am not starting from scratch again. The patterns look scarey.
