I tell them “I am not old, just old-ER! Let’s drop & do push-ups! They say “okay. For an old guy you are in really good shape”. I am retired United States Air Force!

the end scene was great because so many movies fail to portray that sentiment, superman told his sons to stay back and protect the people which they thought means he doesn't trust them enough but he follows up with that if he fails and that thing gets out he needs both of them to protect them because he trusts them with that important task. i wish more characters would think like that instead of just saying "stay back" without explaining and encouraging as to why they should stay back. they got a totally different perception of it as soon as he told them why he doesn't want them in that fight.

I think part of the reason is because time constraints. In this superhero saving people business, even a few seconds matters. Superman can go anywhere he needs to be in seconds - or less. He can see and hear things from a great distance giving him understanding on how urgent the situation is. Superman can afford the seconds needed to explain things - others (less) faster hero may not.

Everything about this scene is EXACTLY why this series is so great… Both sons thinking they can take their dad-and their dad laughing his ass off as he shows them they can’t-and both sides smiling through it. God, this series was great. The movie better be PHENOMENAL because if it isn’t, the DC movie machine owes a huge apology to this series. As a dad myself, I had to laugh-“You guys ARE trying to hit me, right?” The only thing that can trump youth and energy? EXPERIENCE. (Although we dads would LOVE some youth and energy back😂😂😂)

The Movie will fail harder than Lex' attempt to defeat Superman in a Fistfight 🤣 It will be just another Movie that tries to launch a cinematic Universe and we (the REAL Fans) are fed up with that. Superman and Lois worked because it focused on Superman and Lois. No Dr Strange, no green Lantern, no Krypto (kinda), no Hawkman Hawkgirl Ultraman blablabla. Just Superman vs his biggest Foes. James Gunn is to Superman what Joel Schumacher was for Batman: A coffin Nail.

Clark's way of training Jonathan and Jordan was by focusing on them working together as a team. It makes sense and could potentially help them to be better than Superman was at his peak. We also have further confirmation that Clark never met Kara in this universe. It was nice to see Clark, Jonathan, and Jordan be playful during this training. Too bad threat of Doomsday ended their training prematurely.

@@josephconjoh4788 this version is insecure, yes. A secure person knows when to walk away and not feel the need to show someone up/dominate a person that is challenging them. For example, there is a video of a professional boxer getting into a verbal altercation with a guy who wanted to fight him, he could have been insecure and feel the need to beat the guy up to show he's stronger but instead decided to walk away even though it was within his power. Supes had many instance in the show where he could have just let his son enjoy their moment of power but felt he needed to show he is still dominant by showing them up. A perfect example this season was when he was racing his son Jonathan.

When he found out John Henry Irons was from an alternate Earth he was clearly shocked because this was shortly after Crisis. With the exception of Lex Luthor, none of the story arcs on this show rely on pre-Crisis Arrowverse continuity. Not directly anyway. We don't need to know where the other heroes are or what they're doing. It was never an issue with the other shows. So why make it an issue now?
