Every job interview I go to, I tell myself I dont care if I get the job or not. Its a role playing game to amuse myself nothing more. Honestly it really works, you remain calm, you think better , you give off an air of casual confidence. This works on dates as well.
@rangerdanger102 ай бұрын
Literally. I used to get jobs on accident. Would apply for jobs I knew I couldn't get and went into the interview with a "fuck it" mentality. Got every job lol
@gapper3Ай бұрын
Completely agree. I got the best job of my life when I already had a good job, and went to the interview entirely detached. See, I didn't really care about the getting the job. I was very happy where I already was. I just saw this dream job, and instead of thinking there will be thousands of applicants more qualified than me, I just thought, I've got absolutely nothing to lose.

I was a competitive figure skater growing up, and yes, it's true, I always did better in competition when I didn't care what the placement was and I focused more on the pure joy of the movement. That being said, that didnt apply to my training. I needed to feel the push during practice then I could release and purely enjoy the performance.
@jennyjenkins8772 ай бұрын
That's exactly what came to my mind too. I was never more nervous than during skating competitions and I did way better in dance events than free skating because the fear of falling and embarrassment wasn't there.

Cool video, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her.

Very useful! You worded it so well that I had a huge break through from this video! 💯 I finally learned the real meaning of detachement. Thank you, Thank You, Thank You! I have so much Gratitude for your words! I've read Buddhist philosophy & listened to a million different people doing a million different videos on detachment & I still walked away confused, not knowing how to detach or even what the word truly meant. I love connecting with people. I love love. So, I've been resistant thinking detachment means you have to be emotionally detached, as in like you have to leave people you love, not have as deep of connections with people or never be too in love. A thought pattern started to form in my mind of, "fuck all this detachment bs, I came to Earth to love, connect, experience attachment & be loved! I will detach when I leave this world." Clark, your wording, "detached is outcome independent. Do it for the genuine excitement & because you love it".... OMG! ! Thank you! This is what finally resonated with me after all the years of research I've done! Maybe I've been "overthinking" detachment this whole time. 😂 Dude, detachment sounds easy now & not this big horror story anymore! Thanks again! Total game changer! I feel like if I were Link in The Legend of Zelda, all my hearts just got replenished from only having half a heart left. ❤❤❤❤❤ (Thanks ahead of time to all the old school heads who get my analogy) I just made a huge shift. I quantum leaped! Yay! ✨🤸🏼♀️🎉🤸🏼♀️✨ ❤❤❤❤❤

The backward law , guys just lose hope in everything but yourself and you’ll get everything , think of it this way , you don’t own anything really you don’t , when you came you were naked empty hands , so why would you fight your whole life for something, you won’t bring it to death, it was given to you then you give it back to life, you don’t loose anything and you don’t own anything so detach .

I like the way you frame the concept Detachment, somehow different from what Buddhism actually teaches us, but so fitting to our consumerism society. The answer might be just making the right choice between empiricism & pragmatism. Thank you for a daily dose of common sense...in a very messy world!

I lost my iPhone at the beach a few months ago while running around and playing with my dog. It was inconvenient at most. I looked for it for about 15 minutes and then bounced because I have better things to do with my time and I had somewhere I had to be. Got a new phone the next day and just dealt with it. Shit happens and we have to learn to self-soothe, cause what's done is done and no use being hot and bothered if there's nothing you can do about it. 🤷♀

Wow! What a great story of Olympic skater Jansen to showcase the importance of detaching! That was impactful! While I was going through my separation I cared too much to repair things and too much about my former wife and I did things that were desperate. I learned so much from that experience, including the importance of detaching of the outcomes we may want and just put in the work for the love of what we do.

When I first received this download I was completely blown away because I had spent most of my life being so attached to all of the above. I am still a work in progress but my life has now become more productive and I can be more effective in all aspects of my life. Please share your thoughts and do give me your feedback.

Hey, quick suggestion. Take 6:15. When you are telling the story about Tiger Woods, instead of making it b/w, you could zoom in for effect to make it look more appealing to the viewers. Just my two cents. B/w looks a little off for situations like these. But otherwise, top notch content as usual.

I’m more confused. The speed skater finally stopped trying to do it for himself and do for his family and was finally successful but the next thring you talk about is doing things for yourself and not others. What am I missing? How do you detach when you can’t find a job and the bills keep coming? I would just like to make enough not to worry about shut off, evections, having food. I’ve tried focusing on the feeling of relaxing and not stressing about it and the feeling of the freedom of waking not worried about money but how can I not constantly worry n think about money? I’ve taken so much action applying for jobs and trying different ways to earn money online that it’s seeems that’s alls I do anymore. I feel detachment is my issue. How do you detach from needing enough money to just live? Advice? Thanks
