Honestly the way those two grow over time is just amazing. Ky went from 'This man is mocking me, I must defeat him' to 'This man is a broken man, I will help him' Sol went from 'This kid is annoying me, get out of my sight' to 'This man has some resolve, I'll give him that' I'm calling it, the very last battle in GG (game-wise) will be Sol and Ky back in the old cathedral in paris (or it's ruins at least)

There's an actual "role reversal" that takes place between Revelator and Rev2 where it's not Ky who seeks to fight, but Sol who seeks to test himself against Ky, which is why the order of their quotes is changed from "Come with me/No choice" to "Let's go/Can't be helped".

@@zoinks8297 Prior to the end of Strive? Not really. Sol has yet to actually give his all to Ky. Not once has he actually used his Dragon Install canonically against Ky. Sol actually /trying/ against Ky, would end up with Ky as a bloody paste in the floor. Sol could've actually beaten I-No at the end of Strive had he not been turned back into a human. Ky was getting ragdolled, Dragon Install and all.

Of you have played the older games it is 100% addressed that Ky doesn't fight Sol as if he was a gear, but a human. Sol feels taunted by how Ky is holding back so much as he has seen how terrifying he was on a battlefield. Sol even admits to that he was terrified of Ky and thought he would die for sure if Ky found out he was a Gear.

Also of course Ky didn't go all out since nobody goes 100 procent until they are going for intention to kill but that doesn't mean Ky can kill Sol with 100 procent. Ky has advantage of suprise however it's not like Sol was always going all out. He was holding back as well since we never seen him going with full killing intent against Ky. Furthermore if Sol wants to kill Ky, he is going to use DI which can easily kill Ky even if he plays dirty, so in conclusion Ky is still significantly weaker than Sol. Also Sol actually saw some dirty playing from Ky which took out the element of suprise, the only thing he had against Sol. I doubt next time if they fight again, that Sol is going to be that surprised like now even though Ky probably still has a lot to offer. Anyways have a great day.

To be fair, Ky was superstitious of Sol, because of how natural his powers came to him. Even if Ky impressed Sol with his fighting, Sol's fighting was also equally impressive!

Its more so that Ky could have always kicked his ass if he went against Sol like he did the other gears he fought, treating them like monsters and never giving them a chance to fight back. As seen in their last clash, he wouldn't even wait for Sol to get his bearings, just would go for the kill as quick as possible. All the other fights were more so just duels, testing each others skills

Thing is Sol is much, much more powerful than Ky is and things started to even out just recently. And that's a ridiculous comparison, ability to fight melee doesn't translate to battle ability, as Asuka is obviously one of the most powerful magic users in the series. Sol himself failed multiple times to even harm him.

Accent Core is limited by the mechanics that made it well-known at the time. At the end of the day they're both GG games you can enjoy on your own terms.

20 years of exchanges, there's bound to be some growth. Ky learned his own importance rather than obsess over settling a grudge over a stolen sword and pride as a knight. Meanwhile Sol has just begun to feel his limits as a warrior and needs to grow as a person.

Ky could be a 5 year old and Sol could be a god and I still wouldn't call it fair for the Ky player to have lost health due to things outside their skill because of character lore. I didn't see Ky's health go back to full to negate the damage for a fair fight for the players, therefore it's just an unfair advantage for the Sol player.

You make a very strong argument in terms of Technique and Power being different categories. But Sol later admits that he would study technique under the Sacred Order if they invited him back, so he's not entirely uncouth. I'm actually concerned about Sol's fighting style now that he no longer has the Divine Seed (Flame of Corruption) in his body. He's probably lost a lot of power, at least compared to Ky's current strength.

I don't remember loosing it, it still have it, still immense power compared to KY, for ex look in Xrd when Axl stopped time, Sol goes full send with dragon install, KY would never do that, he never lost Divine Seed I think, and in Xrd Sol defeated all "bosses" and KY just stared (because he can't win against them)
