I know that you all know the outcome of my Class 1 test... BUT..... It tickled me abit this vlog so i decided to share it with you all, just to show my reaction and what not....... Hope you enjoy it :)

Well done mate! I'm the same as you since i can remember i wanted to be a lorry driver you have inspired me to go for it. I'm currently an apprentice sparky but once i finish my apprenticeship and get qualified im doing my class 2 and class 1 and cant wait to get in a wagon. might see you on the road one day mate. Well done mate congratulations so chuffed for you,I I drove class 2 for 20 years and passed my class 1 a year n half ago, you’re 100% right what you say about the reversing , it ain’t easy but it gets easier every day you’re out in the real world , took me a few weeks to nail it without having to think about left right right left...enjoy every minute mate well done again

Bloody well done, I was smiling big and wide on you saying you passed so well done, and I know you would of passed (at some stage) as I have seen your future vlogs haha I've started from the beginning of you're journey and having a real sense of 'down to earth' footage from a down to earth person.. Well done mate, l was nervous when l took my HGV test in 1970 and when l took my PSV test in 1974 but like you l passed both first time. Hope you can find a haulier that will take you on & trust you with his wagon & trailer. Now your going on a learning curve to gain experience, best of luck, l ended up bus driving to be home in my own bed every night, plus buses self load & unload !!!

First ever comment. I would just like to say well done lad!! Got a tip but you may already know it. If your ever sitting scratching your head thinking how do i get the trailer to go left or right? Put your hand on the bottom of your steering wheel, then if you want your trailer to go left you push your hand off to the left and away from you and if you want it to go right then push it to the right 😁 simple but effective. Best of luck not that you will need it 🤞

Mate I totally flapped on my reverse but got it in with 2 shunts. I was amazed I got it in and he failed me for being over 10 mins. Back tomorrow to try again. Congrats

It's the best feeling ever! It will get easier in time just take your time and dont let anyone rush you. Lots more choice with class 1. Trunking work or one droppers will give you the experience and confidence you need, if you still want multi drop there are plenty of jobs out there, work for someone that's a member of the pallet network, pallex etc

Very well done to you Deady on passing your class 1. I liked what you said, in that you think you may enjoy doing the class 2 work more. There are some really good class 1 jobs out there and there are some real rubbish ones too, just like good and bad class 2 work. The thing is now you've got the license, you can please yourself which you do. Get yourself out there and enjoy!

Wow i feel a bit emotional watching this. I also did my training at Red Rose and took my test at Kirkham, where was yours mate? 22 years ago now, i was chuffed to bits. Like you it was a lifetime ambition and there's no better feeling. I was only 21 which was the minimum age at the time and that made it all the more sweeter. I know it's an old vlog but congrats anyway mate, doing us Boltonians proud. 👍👏

I failed mine today.... on the independent driving bit. Completely miss the road sign for motorway which were on the right hand lane...end up straddling two lane and block traffic in left lane

When it comes to artics , try to get a go in a left hand drive , if you are a driver then it will all just click , don’t ask me how but it’s the best thing I ever did when it comes to driving , in my mind it teaches yo to trust your mirrors and learn your footprint , but that’s just me 😉

I used to have that passion & drive to be a truck driver. I loved driving. Like you when i passed both c & c+e i thought i had finally achieved something in my life. How wrong was i, i soon realised truck drivers get treated like dirt on & off the roads. 9yrs class 1 & i had to quit. Ruined it for me as now i hate driving with a passion!!! Goodluck to you though

Congratulations, give yourself a couple of weeks of solid class 1 work then say if you think it's harder than class 2. Drove class 2's for a while before class 1 and I'd happily never jump in a class 2 again.

Forgive the Johnny Foreigner over here in New Zealand.. I'm assuming your Class 1 license is essentially the same as our Class 5 heavy combination license ie, what we need to drive either semi-trailers (what you guys call artics), truck & trailer units or B-trains, but what does the C+E mean? @@Deady2012 well the CPC day has come n I passed it this morning which I'm very happy about 🥳 but luck has it I was in court yesterday n had a (driving without due care n attention) offence against me n got given 9 points!!! Buzzing for you pal!!!! I remember how it felt to pass. I was exactly the same as you. I simply couldn't afford to retest if I'd failed so put myself under HUGE pressure but did it with 2 minors too. Welcome to the bendy truck club. Reversing becomes second nature.
