I so needed this! I bought my Lizzie second hand and didn't know they were out of business. The machine worked perfectly but unknown to me an encoder got broken in the way home. It was very difficult to get fixed because I didn't know the problem? I was charged almost $200 for a new encoder that was used! Fortunately I was able to find a former dealer a couple hours from home who installed one, also used, for $75 and returned the expensive one!

Thank you so much for doing this video. I bought an older model Husqvarna Viking 18.8 with never having used a long-arm before and it has been a steep learning curve. I only found out today that it is basically a Tin Lizzie. Your video has been a tremendous help. I just wish I lived closer so I could get more help! Thanks again! I’ve saved thus video and will return back to it many times, I’m sure.

I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing this video. I just 2 weeks ago bought a Janome 18-8DX and have needed to see this and just to know there is someone who have had the history of these fantastic machines. Mine was bought for a lady from her daughter, and them her mother because extremely ill and ultimately passed and this thing had never been opened when I got it.. I sew so nice but I have questions about working on it and being able to get parts in the future.. You are an 😇.

I wonder if all those who have had problems with a Tin Lizzie could have resolved them by watching this??? Wish I could get that TIn Lizzie Training fabric. HOW awesome is that!! I have a whole shopping list just from watching this video. I'm HOPING I can get most of it in Australia as our exchange rate and shipping usually makes it terrible value.

I throw thread away, that break that way. I have a quilt shop close to me, that the thread I buy from her breaks. I told her that the thread broke and she said that doesn’t mean it’s old or bad? What’s your thought on that? I know this is an older video. I hope you all came through Covid and all and are doing well. I have this same machine. Haven’t really ever had any problems with it, except for tension. I just have to mess with it. I’ve had it for nine years, but I seldom quilt. I doubt I’ve used it more than 20 times. I like to make quilt top, but not the quilting part….lol. So happy to find this. The only thing I dislike is the needle down and up? Is on the left. The start is on the right. I am right handed and this is just awkward for me. I would prefer the other way. Can those be changed around? I know it plugs in the assembly, but was afraid I’d mess it up if I tried. Thanks so much for this video.

Janie, do you still have a working website? I bought my Tin Lizzie Ansley 26 from you quite a few years ago. Believe it or not, I just decided to try the ruler base I'd bought at the time. I can't get it on! My machine is centered on the base, but it's too far forward and the plexiglass extension hits the screws on the side of the machine base. I'm not sure if I can move my machine much farther back for stability. What do you think?

I have a TinLizzie Ansley 26I bought in 2011. It is sitting on a Tin Lizzie XL Phoenix 18. I have recently been told that the encoders need to be replaced. I sent in the old ones, and they replaced them however I am having a very difficult time trying to install the new encoder on the back. The old ones were white, and the new ones are black. Would you be able to help me?

I'm having a lot of problems adjusting the tension. There are eyelashes and railroad tracks on the front. I bought a new bobbin case and it helped some, but I still need to adjust the tension. Eyelashes on the top mean the bottom tension is too loose, right? Anyway, I'll keep working at it. I'm very interested in any Zoom classes you offer for the TL. Thanks!

I have been trying to learn mine. Tensiion problems and gave up a few months. I went in to start it up and it didn't power up at first. Itook out fuses but the look ok. When it did power up giving me 2 codes. 1st one is an index flag related error has occurred , 2nd one is a motor related error has occured. No one wants to look at it as you can't get parts. It only has 1:50:46 minutes w/51916 stitches. I bought it used w no minutes not knowing parts and service are not available ant longer. This machine is from Sewing Mac&ne Plus and is a King Quilter limited edition. The original owner bought it and was intimidated, would not try to figure out. If I would have done my research I would not bought this. Now I basically have a frame with no machine. I feel sick. Any suggestions about these error codes? Could it be a motor fuse just in case. One service man thought it was a board over the phone without looking at it.

When quilting on my tin Lizzy, it puckers the top. This is a non stitch regulated machine with minimal frills. I’ve worked the tension in front and raised and lowered the hopping foot and no particular improvement. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks.

Hi there! I have a Tin Lizzy Queen Quilter 18. I have had it 9 years. It's been stitching fine. We went to move it and set it up and it runs fine on fast speed. But on stitch regulator it sounds like something is binding up when you press the needle down and the needle struggles to go down. Do you know what might cause this?

Hi, I have an Artistic 18, which has the same needle size as this Tin Lizzie that you are working on. I bought it at least five years back and haven't used it until now. At any rate, after I got it to stitch a bit, the take up lever got stuck and will not go up and down now. The belt is still on correctly, so now I don't know what to do, as it will not jog up and down. Help please. (p.s. I did not oil it and don't know where to put the oil in either.) Thank you.

Janie thinking about buying a used machine was not sure what their value is since I am just starting long arm. Working on the quilt tops I've been making during the pandemic. Is there anyway you can give me some idea of how much I should be spending on something like this and how hard it is to learn to use. Thank you for any help you can give me it will be greatly appreciate it. Candy.

Wonderful video thank you so much I’ve seen and learned a lot! Continue the great work and I will be back for more and considering classes and will try to get in touch with you on several questions on my 2012 tin Lizzie 18 ESP with the Linksys system. Which is similar to the butler? Also have a phoenix 12 foot frame and I have some concerns on the cone shaped 8 mm hex head screws they are a pain in the butt to keep them tightened. I have thoroughly enjoyed my machine I’ve had very little trouble with it and the tension has been set from the factory when I received it in 2012 of December and I’ve never had to touch it it’s worked really well so I hope I didn’t jinx myself just now telling you that.

@mjp51293 ай бұрын
If you have an electrical strip bar, that has a switch. That won’t fix it of course, but it’s easier than plugging and unplugging. Your long arm power switch might be bad. That should be an easy fix. To check to see if it is the switch, hook it up to a light switch. Hope you understand this.
