Please check your Q No. 15 in video No. 17...Example of Mittal Bros..Sales Return working seems to be incorrect, price per shawl is Rs. 3000 whereas you have taken as Rs. 100

list price means actual price of goods so when trade discount is allowed on goods it means we pay less but it also mean goods really price is same eg purchase goods of list price of rs 20000 from vishal at 20%trade discount agaist cheque it mean we have goods that value us 20000 please clear my doubt 🤔🤔

Thanks for watching our video and asking such an important question! In general, you discount when the cash flows are in the future and you need to find the present value. For example, if you are given a choice between receiving $100 today or $120 in one year, you would choose the $100 today because you could invest it and have more than $120 in a year. However, if you are given a choice between receiving $100 in two years or $120 in three years, you would choose the $120 in three years because you would have to discount the $100 to have less than $120 in two years.
