Solution to last question- For elementary mass dm, (here, theta = @) dm = Mdx/πR = Md@/π (dx=Rd@) Now, dF = Gmdm/R^2 = GmMd@/πR^2 But net force will be only the y component (since, x component gets cancelled by the symmetric half) So, F net = dFsin@ Put df=GmMd@/πR^2 Fnet = GmMsin@d@/πR^2 Now, integrate from 0 to π , answer will be option (D)

41:00 sir, can we do it with v = u + at? because mera answer aagaya. (here i took initial as 0 and finding the final velocity.) eq1=> [v = u + at] 2 = 0 + at at = 2 a = 2/t -------1 eq 2=> again [v = u + at] v = 0 + a't a' = v/t ---------2 now for both particle [f = ma] 1 -------> F = 10 x 2/t = 20/t (here 10 is mass) 2 -------->F = 2 x v/t = 2v/t (here 2 is mass) now we know that [F12 = -F21] therefore, 20/t = -2v/t t -t gets cancelled. 20 = -2v -v = 10 v= -10 hence option b is correct.

Hi Alakh, the solution to the problem at 47:39 is incorrect for the following reasons: 1. The two blocks will be touching each other (your diagram shows a separation)2. Hence, the separation between them is too small to treat the two blocks as point masses and apply Newton's Law of gravitation. You will have to calculate the field due to the first block and then the force on different point of the 2nd block using integration. The error in your solution is of the order of 7%-8%. While the forces act through the centres of the two blocks, calculation of grvaitational attraction between a cube and a cuboid is very complex (refer James et al, The Gravity Field of a Cube ).It will be great if the correct approach can be incorporated in the video. This will help the student immensely and remove misconceptions. Best Regards

hints to solve the last question: 1) form overall expression for force acting on m. 2) try integrating it 3) your d(_ _ _ _) won't be suitable 4) try finding the value of dF 5) still not enough, try finding value of dm 6) again, still not enough, try finding value of dx or dL or another expression in d( - - ) 7) now its enough :) you can easily take out all the constant values and integrate the expression under the integration symbol (make sure to use proper limits by considering symmetry and use the hints which sir said)

@@anuragrai8128 the method of integration is used for continuous bodies. In case of force, different parts of a continuous body attract the point mass by different amount of force. Therefore, we consider a small point mass part of the continuous body (dm). Since dm is a point mass, we can easily use the formula for force due to gravity on it and hence, calculate the force due to the whole continuous mass with the help of integration.
