I don't understand the procedure. On one hand, you have used Toricelli's equation, which considers the value of v1 to be 0, but on the other hand, you've not neglected v1 in order to find dy/dt. Why?

Sir if the area of the hole is negligible, why do we consider the velocity v1? Isn't v1 also negligible?

@@anirudhvarma1815 Since in the question they have given area of efflux as 'a', we will have to consider that the hole's area and top's area doesn't have much difference, therefore efflux velocity has to be taken into account here Hope this helps

YEAH YOU ARE RIGHT BUT WHEN WE NEGLECTED AREA IT IS FOR VELOCITY RELATION WHERE WE DID SQUARING SO SMALL BECAME MUCH SMALL,,HERE IT IS JUST ONE UNIT SO WE CAN CONSIDER THIS MUCH.RIP M Y ENGLISH

@VARUN-pk7xq
@VARUN-pk7xq 4 жыл бұрын
Look only dy/dx is decreasing becoz of the the water is getting out from the small hole so to show that it is decreasing we put "-" negative sign ,

Sir isn't the derivative of 1/√y = 1/2y√y? Sir you took 2√y as derivative of 1/√y., is that a mistake or ami I missing something?

integration of x^3 is (x^4)/4 not (x^4)4, as -1/2+1=+1/2 it will come to be 2√y only.

why cannot root 2g(H-y) instead of root 2gy
@osaidfirozkhan3505
@osaidfirozkhan3505 2 жыл бұрын
No because we are taking the height "y" above the cross sectional area and we know That H-y is the height above the ground and is b/W the surface of ground and cross sectional area (H-y) is the reference point in Bernoulli's theorem
