Sir the photoelectric emission was first discovered not by Albert Einstein but by Heinrich hertz sir...
@godstream-11th12th-ms9hvАй бұрын
You are partially correct. Actually heinrich hertz sir could not explain the reason behind it. But after sir einstein performed the experiment with advanced equipments he was successful in finding the reason...

Respected sir, according to me, IE is energy needed to take out a bounded electron from any atom, whereas in work function, energy is needed to take out an electron which is already free, not bounded by any atom. Am I correct? Please respond 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Sir as photoelectric effect is the emission of electrons from metal "surface" ..so that mean only surface electron will eject and not the electron which present in depth of metal lattice.???

Sir .. Even in the absence of the photo cell ...battery does some work to move the electrons...ie even in the absence of photo cell ie only battery and wires ... Current flows in the ckt ... With the introduction of photo cell...new set of electrons and emitted .. Which would further enhance the current ..I thought..... But the electrons of the wire cannot move in btw the photo cell I guess... In the photo cell only the electrons emitted by the metal surface moves to the anode...... There's a clash I suppose ...maybe because of my wrong understanding..... It's like the electrons from the copper wire stop at the location of photo cell... Wherin a new set of electrons emitted from the metal travel and constitute current... Inside the photo cell. I'm really confused... Plz c correct me sir
@abhayvgg8 жыл бұрын
sir does according to this effect a metal body stop supplying electron when the electrons exhaust and accordingly the metal would also shrink
@physicsgalaxyworld8 жыл бұрын
electrons will not exhaust... but as electrons will emit body will get positively charged and it will increase the inward pull on further emitting electrons... then it is possible that after some time the positive charge increases to a level that it will not allow further emission of electrons...

Sir according to me Photoelectric effect was discovered by 'Lenard'. Einstein was the one who could explain it.
@ayushshah33578 жыл бұрын
TheJae3013 it's Hertz not lenard
@yourmomisgay3777 жыл бұрын
photoelectronic effect was discovered by Hertz and lenard told that when uv rays are incident on cathode,electrons are ejected,these electrons are attracted by anode and due to complete path of photo electrons,photo current flows.

sir please reply , in which order i should watch your modern physics lecutres ?
sir why did all the electrons emmited toward anode only,why not opposite side?😐
@sidharth71874 жыл бұрын
Bro for this you have to understand the whole mechanism The electrons are emitted due to photoelectric effect ,then they are just emitted they have kinetic energy so that they can go in any direction to get them in a specific direction external potential difference is applied so that electron can travel from cathode to anode as from anode electrons can not travel(mostly) and the current is produced

Sir what is the basic difference between work function and ionisation energy???
@physicsgalaxyworld6 жыл бұрын
work function is defined for a surface of a lattice structure whereas ionization energy is the term used for independent atoms...
@suvamkumar33706 жыл бұрын
Thnx sir.sir for how much time PEE will occur bcs after some time when all tha electrons will be ejected then then there will be no electrons...
@physicsgalaxyworld6 жыл бұрын
No... even before all the electrons are ejected PEE stops... because if there is an isolated metal body then it starts getting positively charged as its electrons are ejected and that makes ejection of electron difficult with time... and after some time when potential of body due to its positive charge increases to a level which does not allow the max KE electron to go out PEE will stop...
