sir in queset 1 of photoelectric effect there is this question Mark WRONG STATEMENT.... A-ONE PHOTON CAN EJECT TWO METALLIC ELECTRON B-NO OF INCIDENT PHOTON=NO OF EMITTED ELECTRON FROM SURFACE C-WORK FUNCTIONS ARE DIFF FOR DIFF MATERIALS D- PEE CAN BE EXPlAinED BY QUANTUM THEORY... sir ans is given B...sir but A is also incorrect na?
@physicsgalaxyworld8 жыл бұрын
It can be correct also... one photon when supply energy to an electron then during the process of its emission it can collide with other electrons and emit one or more electrons as well... if the question is of single choice correct MCQ then B is most appropriate and if it belongs to more than one choice correct MCQ then both A and B can be chosen as A cannot be directly true...

if option a can be correct,then b also be correct..bcz if one photon can eject 2 electron then no of incident photon can be equal to no of ejecting electron..pls correct if I am thinking in a wrong way.

b is not always correct , it may or may not be ....

Why, in the Compton effect, which is also quanta in nature, is the (x-ray) photon not absorbed but scattered by the e-? What are the differences in the Compton and PEE which allow such different behavior than the "THREE QUANTUM CHARACTERISTICS IN PHOTOELECTRIC EFFECT"? Thank you for such amazing videos!!!
@physicsgalaxyworld7 жыл бұрын
Its the energy range of photon due to which different characters are shown by a photon...
@dalenassar91527 жыл бұрын
Does that mean that an X-ray photon is not suitable (too energetic?) for typical photoelectric 'effects'? Is there a similar dependence on the metal's work function or conductance?

After absorbing a photon electron may collide with other electron and loose some energy but if electron cannot loose it's energy in parts as sir mentioned then how it is loosing some energy in collision
