This Adventure was Tough for me, although the steep approach up to the Coffee pot and short subsequent class 5 climb to its summit went very smoothly, the ensuing ridge traverse to Potosi was a very loose tedious side hill slog. The traverse around the summit of Potosi was more of the same. Following a faint trail sent me past the prescribed ascent route on the SW ridge and on to Potosi's east ridge where I improvised a route back west on a ledge system to reunite with the standard route's upper gullies. That traverse and the continuation of the standard route also proved to be very loose, soft, and steep, real energy sappers with few options to side step it and climb steeper more solid rock.
I did find and use the standard route for my descent. Then the traversing descent from the Potosi/Coffee Pot saddle, West toward my ascent route was more of the same, only for me, terminating in a maze of deep steep loose canyons forcing me to climb back up several 100' in order to "Safely" move west onto safer ground and a survivable descent. . . I must have descended too quickly. . . The final descent around the lower canyon/gully system was undoubtably the most dangerous part of the climb for me. . . despite expending extra energy to traverse west to where I thought I would be clear of the Canyons. . . Climb this route at your own risk, not recommended by me, but, to be fair, I made a few mistakes. . .
