Class 6: Categories and Criteria

On this occasion, we discuss the idea that constituents belong to categories. The categories we will be addressing today are: adjective, adverb, verb and noun - of course, there are more! These are just the ones we have chosen in order to get started with the notion CATEGORY. We will be detailing criteria of two kinds, in order to account for category selection: morphological and distributional criteria.
