If you was driving this you are so lucky, I first met a class 60(60095) when I was a little boy and everyday i’d go out and see them thunder past Warrington Bank Quay, they still do now but the 60s are some of the best locomotives i’ve ever heard in my life

When we were kids at South Moreton, we had a competition on who could build the biggest bonfire for Nov 5th, one fine day we set out with our saws and axes to see what we could find to build up our fire, we decided that the big tree next to Coaches End bridge was our target for that day, after spending about 2 hours sawing and axing we managed to "fell" the tree, only problem was it fell across the Paddington-Bristol down main track, luckily there was no trains in the area at the time, realizing our "mistake" we still had enough sense to get together and pull the tree off the track before any traffic arrived, we managed to get it into a situation where we could chop it up and carry it bit by bit to its final location, which was our bonfire, that took several days, we did finish up with the biggest bonfire in the village that night, only problem was that my mate the owner of the house that had the fire opened up the box of fireworks, left the cover off and walked a few feet from the box and lit a jumping jack that jumped right in the middle of the open box of fireworks, rockets, bangers the whole lot was on fire, we all had to run for cover and abandon the official firework display, needless to say early bath that night !!

Very enjoyable video Ray. Certainly seems a lot smoother and much quieter than a 66 to drive (apart from the leaky window seal!)

"Coaches End Bridge" (tunnel) is about 30:56 in this video, just before the houses you can see in the distance, Sands Road.

Great video, thanks for sharing! I find the tug's Mirrlees throb to be very, umm, relaxing to the point of being soporific. Does it get that way in the cab, too? Does it make you want to nod off? :) Also, was this an aggregates trip? If so, how heavy a load?

Thanks for posting this - especially as it shows a small part of the Berks and Hants. Why do you think there no cab ride videos this route (via Lavington)? I know it's basically three branch lines joined together, but it has an interesting history.

I was just wondering if you know what the whooping noise is at around 02:25 I have heard 60s making it before when pulling away with a huge train. Great vid btw :)

I always wanted to be a train driver but the views out the window look bloody boring. Also the ratlling and other noises would drive me mad
