when do they come in service? currently a student at leicester and frequently commute back home to london so often take the route from leicester - st pancras but never see these trains.

The 807s will be fully in service when the winter timetable rolls out, I believe the trains you are thinking of is the class 810 with EMR they should be running next year 😁

Yes 5 coaches but they’re slightly smaller to allow for a double 10 car train to fit at St Pancras
