This 1989 FJ62 is probably one of the most intensive restorations we have ever performed on a classic Toyota Land Cruiser. The restoration took over 9 months to complete with meticulous attention to detail. This Land Cruiser has the 5.7 Vortec “crate” V8 engine and the GM ¾ ton 4L80E automatic transmission. The Vortec V8 engine produces around 400 hp. This Land Cruiser came from a dry climate and came to us rust-free and well preserved. A partial list of the work performed includes: body work to remove dents and imperfections, completely sealed and primer painted with a finish color of Desert Tan. It was painted with a two stage paint, "base coat / clear coat" and is gorgeous. The undercarriage was power washed and sandblasted, followed by a rust prevention treatment including a rubberized top coat. All new Old Man Emu 2 ¼” soft-ride leaf springs with grease-able shackles, Old Man Emu shocks and steering stabilizer. All new inner and outer brake lines, calipers, rotors, drums, shoes and pads, as well as a complete front “Birfield” knuckle rebuild. It has an all new dual exhaust system, a custom front Land Cruiser Restorations bumper with 8000# Warn winch, 2 bumper mounted Rigid Industries LED spotlights, 8 roof mounted LED spotlights, custom rear Land Cruiser Restorations bumper with spare tire carrier and Jerry can holders as well as a receiver hitch, custom Land Cruiser Restorations rock sliders, Gobi stealth roof rack. All new carpet and padding throughout, reupholstered all seat in leather as well as door panels. Euro style outside mirrors, Tuffy lockable center console. Grote LED headlights. Five new BFG 285/75/16 Km2 m/t tires, Five 16” Pro Comp rims. Front and rear indirect LED interior courtesy lighting, automatic activated headlights, professionally installed high end custom sound system with rear cargo speaker box wrapped in matching brown leather. All windows were tinted at 20% penetration. It still retains the factory power windows, power locks and push button 4 wheel drive.
If you’re interested in a classic Land Cruiser that is above and beyond anything you have ever driven, this one should spark your interest. It will put you in a class that only a few have achieved. The above list is by far only a partial list of the labor involved in this fabulous transformation.
Please feel free to give me a call to discuss this very special Land Cruiser in more detail.
