Adult Swim has frequently aired adult animation features, mockumentaries, sketch comedy, and pilots. The block's shows are known for their sexual themes, frank sexual discussion, nudity, strong language, and graphic violence. Many of its programs are aesthetically experimental, transgressive, improvised, and surrealist in nature. Adult Swim has contracted with various studios known for their productions in absurd and shock comedy.[1]
As with Cartoon Network, Adult Swim's reach through various services totals 94 million American adults as of March 2021.[2]

I was on the verge of turning 12 when Adult Swim premiered, so I wasn't a "little kid", but I wasn't a teen yet either. That '01-'03 era was the best because it was Cartoon Network taking it to a whole nother level. Mission Hill is still the funniest cartoon Adult Swim's ever shown.

That is my memory of the original adult swim. Cartoon network was on non-stop and my rabbit lived to watch it. He would hand while we amped up for the club and then came home and kept the party going

@@whiteydiamond I had a giant lop and wild jackrabbit mix that the owner of the rabbits had to make dissappear cause they would bring down the price of his rabbits since it was a specialty show breeder. (My 6 year old nephew brought them to me as a birthday gift....i thought what the hellnam i gonna do with these rabbits? Do they even do anything....) so I took one and gave 3 to a few friends. This rabbit was 3.5 feet long just loafing. Not even stretched out. And he was a guard rabbit. Turns out they are as smart as dogs. He could play fetch. Had a maze made out of stereo component boxes he would move around. If it was just a wall he was antisocial. And when you were breaking the rule of bags left at the door, he would stomp a few times then spray you before biting. Gross but effective. Lol He had a stuffed hippo named milk he did sexy time with At that time noone was fixing rabbits cause they were considered vermin not pets. It was 1992 i got him i think.

Glad to see Mission Hill added. It was one of many shows that started airing on Adult Swim due to being treated badly by they’re former network. Just like Family Guy and Futurama, though they’re airings were reruns. And as for Family Guy it only aired one new episode on Adult Swim during its cancellation

Family only came back through DVD sales and fans complaining to fox I also believe someone who was famous put a word in for it. Family guy could’ve been the biggest fuck up Fox has ever made they literally cancelled a show that would’ve been a multi million dollar asset. The guys at adult swim saw the future of adult animation and new what gems these shows where. Unfortunately the same people that where so forward thinking are the same reason why adult swim is failing and continues to fail. The best original program adult swim ever produced morel orel isn’t even out on physical media and never gets mentioned.

I remember it had to be like mid to late 2002 when we finally got cable tv in our house. Wayy before the Xfinity era, back then it was just called Comcast, and Cartoon Network was on channel 42. I was 5 when this was recorded, I’ll be 26 in two months and watching this makes me feel like a little kid again staying up late with my sisters. And we somehow still had energy for school the next day, which is unheard of today. It was a hell of a era that still inspires my creative interests to this day😎😊❤️

The first time I ever saw Adult Swim was around this time, 2001 or 2002. I was, and still am, a very picky eater. One day when I was 6 years old my parents had enough and told me I couldn't leave the table until I finished my plate. My family went downstairs and watched TV while I was stuck in the kitchen. We had a small CRT in the kitchen and after about an hour I got the courage to get up and turn it on. Of course I put on my favorite channel Cartoon Network. You can imagine my suprise when around 9 or so it Switched to Adult Swim. I immediately knew I shouldnt watch it but was absolutely captivated. Home Movies was the first thing that played and I found it hilarious. Really shaped a lot of my humor as an adult lol.

Not much of a surprise since I caught on to Joe from Family guy being voiced by the same guy that voiced Brock from Venture Brothers. I didn't even notice it at first either until I listened more carefully that it was in fact the same voice actor. I hated FG guy though and Venture Brothers got weak after they changed Hank and Dean and they left the compound to move to New York. By season 3 I was already hating the show, now it's just unwatchable and lost that Johnny Quest edge it had in the beginning.

@@skepg3729 The fact that people are saying "FIRE" is why I want to go back even more so. Even the slang of today is annoying as hell. And Adult swim is ultimate trash, they removed a lot of episodes they felt were "too offensive." Then in 2020 they resorted to virtue signaling. Screw them they are nothing like what they use to be. They probably murdered a bunch of Squidbilly episodes just like they pulled that episode from Aqua Teens when Shake was bitten by a radioactive black man and turned black himself. That was one of the very episodes they removed because they felt it was heavily "racist." Even before then they got rid of Moral Orel for similar reasons except that time it involved their issue with the four depressing dark stories related to the women in the Alone episode.

I probably still have video tapes of my overnight recordings that I'd watch on Monday afternoons when I'd get home from school.
