Classic Analysis Highlights: PPMD VS Armada Pound 5

Apologies for no videos last week I was told there was bad internet where I was staying for spring break but I didn't know if your upload speed is bad enough a video of this size will just fail to upload after a while. I also decided to make highlights of this analysis since there is less emphasis on the gameplay given how old it is. I feel it's important for the normal analysis for players to see the context of the whole match which is why I don't usually make highlights for those. I will likely release last weeks weekly highlights tomorrow.

There is a reason I became a Mang0 fan that's different from the way I feel about players like armada and PP. I all like them very much but the way Mang0 treats the game is true to the core. The fact that he doesn't like getting chain grabbed on FD is tied to what makes the entire smash bros franchise different from all the other fighting games like Street fighter and tekken, and if you love melee there is a reason you're here. Sure the gods don't have to be the ones at the top in tourneys for the rest of the years to come but in this short period of time where I watched sets, old and new, I realized what those top players from then brought us. I respect Mang0 and I understand what others in the comment secrion are saying when they say that they'll quit if he quits. Without mang0 they feel like the game will have been totally given up to a playing style which isn't necessaeily as fun and is more oriented towards winning by any means. That's why I only like some games that Hbox is playing. I mentioned him as an example but the game might not necessarily shift towards a purely technical meta. It all depends on us.

Living in California as a melee player must be the best. Our local scene sounds like the dark days he was talking about only in modern times. It's really hard to stay motivated when only 5 people come to your locals. Any suggestions fam?

Actually yours is a bad analogy, Im not watching that isnt enjoyable for me to watch, I enjoy the more fast paced wacky nutty action. Constant engages and hype sets. I will not watch something or get inspired to play something that I dont enjoy. So take your sports analogy, do you think that someone who enjoys the NBA and likes a team that isnt a title contesting team? Hell no, im not going to watch sports that are lamed out garbage over and over beacuse I enjoyed the sport. I dont watch the NBA because its just the same thing over and over and that goes for melee. I think all the top level sets are great but im not going to enjoy watching the optimal thing over and over, planking, chain grabbing, time outs, etc. Just becasue its melee. Ill watch if someone crazy is playing and its actually a fun match but if you are going to sit there and tell me that hbox vs chudat where he ran away after killing nana was enjoyable to watch you're out of your mind.
