This is interesting that not only old vehicles use the ATF Transmission fluid, but also new cars of today. Really neat to see how easy it is to change out the ATF Fluid. Amazing that it runs and shifts like new the 4 speed transmission. Keep sharing the story of the 1959 Cadillac Deville. Great Education.

I use the red atf in my ram 1500 5 speed, and the blue high mileage in my wife’s Ford Escape 6 speed. It made a huge instant improvement in both vehicles. No more flare shifts on the escape that they are know for. Gained .9 mpg on the ford and .6 on the ram. I tow with my truck and my wife commutes almost two hours round trip a day, so this is a no-brainer.

This didn’t drain the torque converter though right? So still had old oil in it. Can do a full flush without the expensive trans flushing machine real say as the car idles

Correct yeah just the pan but you don't have to it made a huge difference just changing half the fluid I will be going back soon and doing another drain and fill and taking the pan off to clean it!

@@Syntheticoilprotection its not a torque converter. Its a Torus. Its a dual fluid coupling transmission. Comes apart in pieces but yes thats the drain for it.

Darn it, why didn’t you touch on any improvement in terms of the kick-down performance? Please address this where be the engine oil, the trans fluid & the rear end oil. Bye the way if you have an exhaust leak on that old Caddy like all the old Caddy’s of the period don’t be like everyone else that know one fixes it …step up to the plate and fix it. This happened to me and I had the gaskets replaced A.S.A.P. on both sides of the exhaust. Love the show & Amsoil, I use it in my ‘60 Thunderbird 352 classic car engine and it runs so much smoother and quieter.
