Love the 2 Litre Spider. I have one too that I bought in 1989 (for $12,000) and then restored. March 1960 production according to Alfa archives. I have owned mine for over half my life now, and over half the car's life! There are always little things to do and fix, but she sings on the highway and our Idaho country roads.

Ron.:: Wow !! Lovely video and Paul Simon song at the end was just perfect. My first car I bought in April 1968 was.....you guessed it! A 1962 Alfa 2000 Spider ! White Pearl finish with dark grey interior. A man at the 2015 New Hope Pa. Auto show had a red one like yours...1961. He told me there was no 1962 model, but i found on research that Alfa made some 1962 versions up till March 1962 before changing to the 2600 .six cylinder. No matter. The description you gave could not have been better. I might add that the overall balance of the car...both in appearance and weight distribution was uncanny. The steering was Fabulous. And. I loved the huge aluminum drum brakes...they worked fine on my Alfa. I did most of the work myself even though I was 17 years old . I was good with wrenches and had some experience in mechanics. ....I am surprised you did not mention that the. DB 5 was also a Superlegarra Touring body like the Alfa 2000 Spider. One statement I made that I regret. This was not the only 4 seat convertible at all. The 2600 just following this car was also a 4 seat, and of course all those great cars from the 30's and 40's.

Ron, on behalf of all 2600 owners, you are forgiven! Prettier than the 2600 and terrific that you've done what some of us have, restoring the remaining great 50's-60's Touring Spiders. You're right, 2000 or 2600, wonderful touring cars. Just a beautiful car and GLWTA!

The European model Your showing I owned since 23 years. Never had any problems with it. Driving twice Liege -Rome -Liege with it .
