* Update Dec 2020 * I went back! Check the links below!
I last visited DVAP in February 2018 and uploaded a video (link below) that became so popular over the last year and a half, I decided to go back and see if there was any new inventory. Hope you enjoy a 20-minute stroll through some of the vehicles available for the picking. I was like a kid in a candy store checking out all the merchandise.

Just found your videos. I like , how you are mellow and not acting like a kid on crack most other videos. I like how you speed up the video when your walking, I like your attention to detail. Your doing a great job , I will subscribe and like God bless young man.

I remember when these old cars were common to see on the road. The young people think these are from outer space because they never saw them when they lived. Lots of art deco design in the 50/60's cars.

The white 62 Chrysler Newport you liked the dash in is called Astradome. No bulbs, has electroluminescent to light up the dash lights. It is a beautiful sight at nighttime. And yes it does have A/C. The turrets sticking out of the top of the dash are present. Chrysler for several years mounted the rearview mirror on the dash. That one does not have the day and night feature. It does have a factory clock and Golden Tone AM radio. Chrysler offered several 4 door rooflines in 62. The one you saw which is the more common hardtop. The large rear window 4 door is quite a bit rarer. And of course the most common 4 door sedan. The Newport was also offered in 2 door hardtop, convertible, and wagon. Most of these old cars, I mean 65 and down seem to be A/C equipped. Most likely because of where they were originally sold. Their is a wrecking yard in Fresno, Ca that had probably fifty to one hundred Imperials from 1955 to 1966. Unfortunately I heard that they were crushed within the past few years. There is a video on you tube showing them. I saw these Imperials back in 1999 when I was sourcing parts for my 1986 Ford Thunderbird that I had just wrecked. The Imperials were in really good shape at the time.
@TysonHugie
@TysonHugie 5 жыл бұрын
Awesome, I knew somebody would pull through with some knowledge and facts about the vehicles I was getting an up close look at. I really liked that Newport. I would love to see the dash lit up at nighttime. Thanks for watching!

If you notice in the video a lot of the cars are for doors not two doors Only Thing Worth value on the four-door cars are front clips maybe rear bumpers and tail lights not too many people have four-door cars to restore. Bought a pair of fenders for 68 Pontiac Tempest from them they said the rust free and no body filler in them we checked out the shipping invoice one said it was heavier than the other so we looked at them one had a gallon of Bondo in it somebody just put Bond Owens fender them primed over top fit the primer was fresh other one had fresh primer as well they told us they've been sitting on a car for 20 years in yard on the car those fenders were not sitting on a car for 20 years in their yard somebody put body filler in them and primed them up real quick and tried it aged them. Drove all the way from Michigan to Arizona to give them their shit back. Not happy customer at all watch buying stuff from them if you live far away they'll give you junk not what you seen in the picture they're about Justice worst is billions and trillions in Oklahoma wouldn't Buy anything from these two year olds that's my experience.

Couldn't possibly think of a better way to spend $2.00 than this! Wow, what a tour! Thank you for being our tour guide. What an awesome collection of 60's & 70's American cars. It was like a walk through, previewing what heaven will be like. Here in MI, we just don't have many salvage yards anymore like the one you just featured. I'm sure someone already revealed the identity of Marvin Martian from the old Warner Bros./Looney Tunes Cartoon series of characters from the 50's & 60's. Haven't seen a Kent Golden Lights book of 20 matches in years. Thank you again! Look forward to your next video from Desert Valley if you go back for a part 3?

another good video this place always amazes me on how many 60s and 70s gems are there that wagon with the cool roof windows is a Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser and many scrap yards like the old Station Wagons for scrap value when you went passed all the old thunderbirds it brought back some great memories of a girl i dated in the 1980s her daily driver was a third convertible from the early 60s we lived in South Florida and i used to follow her home and i thought she looked so great with the wind blowing her Strawberry Blonde hair the car was one of many her Dad kept at their 2nd home in Florida mostly old Fords but he did have some other makes on their farm in Washington State as well

15:15 You can find out if that GSX is real or a clone by looking up the VIN number on the old interwebs. 15:38 MARVIN!!!!! Where's the KABOOM???? There was supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!!!! 15:49 Pretty cool to see a car that was originally sold in Minnesota having it's (most likely) final resting place in Arizona. 16:42 I'd love to get that grill, it would make for an interesting piece in my garage. 18:26 Not just a Riviera, it's a Boat Tail Riviera.
